Carson Beck won’t play in tonight's preseason game after suffering a rib injury in last week’s Hall of Fame game, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. It’s not considered serious, and Beck practiced throughout the week before being held out as a precaution.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Rib Issue, Zero Fallout
Beck found success in his first taste of NFL action last week, completing 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards. He also added a touchdown through the air without throwing an INT.
According to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN, the rib injury occurred on a third-and-3 run in the first quarter. So we’ve already seen Beck play successfully since hurting his ribs.
With Jacoby Brissett getting the start and making his preseason debut, as well as the Cardinals getting an extra preseason game this year, it only makes sense for the team to give its new rookie QB extra time to heal.
Beck may not have fantasy intrigue this season or even next, but this rib injury doesn’t change anything.
