George Kittle returning to play nearly nine months to the day after tearing his achilles is a remarkable accomplishment. In the 49ers 27-7 victory over the Rams on Thursday, Kittle caught two of his 5 targets for 12 yards, totaling 3.2 PPR points. Kittle's return to high-end production is a separate uphill battle that's still in progress.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Fast Return, Tougher Rebound
Kittle enters the 10th season coming off the most devastating injury of his career. Unfortunately, his Achilles recovery wasn't the only question mark clouding his return to high-end production.
Before last season's injury, Kittle was commanding the lowest target share of his career since his rookie year and fell under 2.00 yards per team pass attempt for just the second time over the past eight years.
He still averaged 14.7 PPR points per game, but that's owed largely to a 10.2% touchdown rate, the second-highest mark of his career.
His quick return from such a grim injury was remarkable, but another run among the top-scoring fantasy TEs still looks cloudy.
