Seahawks TE AJ Barner posted a solid 5-69 receiving line on 9 targets in Sunday's loss to Washington. That ranked him second on the team in targets and receiving yards for the game and tied him for second in receptions (with RB George Holani). WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba once again dominated the receiving with 10 catches for 128 yards and 2 TDs on 14 targets.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says Seattle's new offense under first-time OC Brian Fleury will include "a lot of" multiple-TE sets and a good bit more work for WR Rashid Shaheed in his first full season with the team.

Multiple Seahawks observers credited second-year TE Elijah Arroyo with a standout performance in Friday's workouts. His most celebrated catch came from third-string QB Jalen Milroe, but it doesn't sound like we should take that as a signal that Arroyo's buried on the depth chart.

Seahawks TE A.J. Barner is recovering from a pair of late-February surgeries. The exact procedures remain unknown, but John Boyle of the team’s official site points out that Barner dealt with calf, ankle, knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip injuries last season.

New Seahawks OC Brian Fleury was asked about his offense on Wednesday and said it'll look “very similar to the one that just won the Super Bowl.” Fleury worked with former Seahawks OC and new Raiders HC Klint Kubiak for one year in San Francisco under HC Kyle Shanahan. "Both of us were more influenced by Kyle than anything else," Fleury said of his relationship with Kubiak. "Klint's a good friend and a great football coach. Right away we bonded over similar views of football. How we see the game, what we think is important."

The Seahawks are hiring Brian Fleury as their new OC, according to multiple reports. Fleury spent the past seven seasons in San Francisco under HC Kyle Shanahan, working his way from defensive quality control coach to TEs coach and run game coordinator this past year. Fleury has never called plays at any level.

Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo (knee) is inactive for the NFC Championship vs. the Rams. The rookie was activated from IR this week but won't play in this one. A.J. Barner will continue dominating snaps and targets in Seattle's TE room.

Seahawks RB George Holani and TE Elijah Arroyo have been activated from IR for Sunday's NFC Championship vs. the Rams. Holani figures to step in as the No. 2 RB with Zach Charbonnet out, although we'd be surprised if he got more than a handful of touches behind Ken Walker. Arroyo also figures to play a bit role behind lead A.J. Barner but adds some juice to the TE room. The rookie averaged 11.9 yards per catch during the regular season.

Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo (knee) is out for Saturday night's Divisional Round game vs. the 49ers. The rookie returned to a full week of practice but evidently isn't ready for game action quite yet. That keeps A.J. Barner locked in as Seattle's clear top TE.

Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo has been designated to return from IR. The rookie has been sidelined since Week 14 with a knee injury but is ready to get back on the practice field. Barring a setback, he'll likely be cleared to play in Seattle's playoff opener next week. Arroyo isn't much of a standalone option in playoff fantasy contests, but he dents TE A.J. Barner's outlook. Barner ran a route on 73% of pass plays without Arroyo over the last four games -- up from 66% in 13 games with Arroyo.

Seahawks TE A.J. Barner (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so we’re not expecting the calf to be an issue in this one

Seahawks TE A.J. Barner (calf) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so Barner should play. He’s popped for a few useful fantasy lines this season but has topped three catches just once. Barner remains just a TE2.

Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp (heel, hamstring) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Commanders. He could miss multiple games after hurting his hamstring in Thursday’s practice. WR Tory Horton and TEs A.J. Barner and Elijah Arroyo are candidates for more targets tonight, but all three still qualify as fliers in fantasy lineups.

Seahawks rookie TE Elijah Arroyo turned a season-high five targets into a season-high 4 receptions in Sunday night's win over the Texans. He ranked second on the team in each of those categories for the game, along with receiving yards (42). WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the only other Seahawk to catch more than two passes, and no other teammate exceeded three targets.

WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba unsurprisingly dominated Seahawks receiving in Sunday's victory at Jacksonville. But TE AJ Barner checked in second in receptions and receiving yards. He caught all three of his targets for 71 yards, with a 61-yard deep ball accounting for most of that production.

Seahawks TE A.J. Barner is atop the depth chart right now, according to The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar. "Barner is currently the No. 1 tight end, and he’s looked very promising in practice," Dugar writes. "Feeling a bit miscast as a blocking tight end coming out of Michigan, Barner continues to show he’s a great athlete with soft hands and the ability to make big-time catches."

The Seahawks have released TE Noah Fant. He spent the past three years with the team after arriving from Denver in the 2022 Russell Wilson trade. Seattle exercised the option on Fant's rookie contract for 2023 and then signed him to a two-year, $21 million contract ahead of last season. The release frees up $9 million in non-guaranteed money under Seattle's 2025 salary cap.

Seahawks TE Noah Fant caught three balls for 26 yards in Sunday's win over the Jets. That marked his return after missing three games with a back injury.

Seahawks TE Noah Fant (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. That should mean another full-time role for TE A.J. Barner, who’s a viable replacement if you were hoping to use Fant today.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says "it'll be close" whether TE Noah Fant (groin) will be able to play against the Cardinals today. He was a full-go in Friday's practice but is listed as questionable. Seattle elevated TE Tyler Mabry from the practice squad on Saturday, suggesting concern about Fant's ability. We won't get Seattle's inactives until a little before 3 pm ET today, making this a situation to avoid in Week 12 fantasy lineups.
