Green Bay Packers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Packers are listing Edge Micah Parsons as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions with the back injury that has limited his practice work since the trade. We'll see whether he's active Sunday, but even an active Parsons will make for a risky IDP play. He, of course, missed all of training camp and the preseason while seeking a new contract.

If you thought Micah Parsons was using his "back injury" as a fake cover for his Dallas hold-in, then you were apparently mistaken. The new Packers edge is dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain that's challenging his readiness for Sunday's game against the Lions. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Parsons may seek an epidural shot to be able to play in the game. Parsons reportedly practiced in limited fashion Monday. There's no official injury report for the day. Those will start Wednesday.

The Cowboys have finally ended the Micah Parsons saga by agreeing to send him to the Packers for two first-round picks and DT Kenny Clark, according to multiple reports. Parsons has also reportedly agreed to a four-year extension with Green Bay that will average $47 million per year and make him the highest-paid non-QB in the league. Parsons had been holding in at Cowboys training camp in search of a new contract.

Packers CB Nate Hobbs had arthroscopic surgery recently to treat a meniscus tear in his right knee, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The team expects Hobbs to miss the rest of August but hopes to get him back for the Sept. 7 regular-season opener. Hobbs reportedly could have played through the injury but had the procedure to avoid worsening the issue. He had the surgery Saturday, Aug. 2.

Packers S Xavier McKinney might miss the rest of training camp and preseason with a calf injury that knocked him out of practice this week. ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that McKinney says he'll be ready for the regular season, though. It sounds like McKinney had felt some discomfort in the area but that it worsened after Wednesday's practice.

Packers LB Quay Walker faces an important fourth season this fall. It's the final year of his rookie contract, and the team declined the fifth-year option on the former first-round pick. Green Bay has reportedly expressed interest still in bringing him back beyond this season. But Walker also landed this week on the physically unable to perform list to open camp, with no specific injury reported. That could prove to be no big deal. A player isn't required to spend any specific time on the camp PUP list, so Walker can be activated at any point. But any delay could be problematic, as he has plenty to prove in 2025.

The Packers have agreed to a four-year deal with CB Nate Hobbs. ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that Hobbs will get "up to" $50 million with incentives and that $16 million comes as a signing bonus.

The Packers have ruled LB Quay Walker (ankle) out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bears. It'll be the third straight game he's missed with the injury, locking in Eric Wilson and Edgerrin Cooper as the lead LBs in playing time for the game. Both have moved up our Week 18 rankings, with Cooper a particularly high-upside option. Green Bay has also ruled out CB Jaire Alexander (knee), S Evan Williams (quad), and S Zayne Anderson (concussion). Those absences should boost playing times for DB Javon Bullard, CB Carrington Valentine, and CB Eric Stokes. The Packers defense doesn't take a meaningful fantasy hit from these absences.

The Packers have ruled LB Quay Walker out for Monday night's game against the Saints because of the ankle he sprained last week.

Packers LB Quay Walker left with an ankle injury in the first half of Sunday night's game against the Seahawks and was later ruled out. We'll see about his outlook for Week 16 and beyond. Walker's absence would leave room for Isaiah McDuffie and/or Eric Wilson to see more snaps.

The Packers left LB Edgerrin Cooper off the week's final injury report, indicating he's ready to return from his three-game hamstring injury.

Packers LB Quay Walker is inactive for today's game against the Jaguars with the concussion he suffered last week. Walker entered Sunday questionable, which likely puts him on track to return for Week 9 against the Lions. Eric Wilson led Green Bay LBs in playing time after Walker left last Sunday and leads the group in our Week 8 LB rankings.

Packers LB Isaiah McDuffie left Sunday night's win over the Vikings with a concussion. He was filling in for LB De'Vondre Campbell (neck), so we'll see about the status of both players for a Week 18 matchup with the Bears. Green Bay holds the No. 7 position in NFC playoff seeding right now but could still be passed with a loss to Chicago.

Packers LB De'Vondre Campbell (neck) is doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Vikings. He hasn't practiced at all the past two weeks and posted on social media last week that he wouldn't play hurt anymore. We'll see if he can get over the hurt by Week 18. Isaiah McDuffie gets another start in Campbell's place this week.

The Packers have ruled LB De'Vondre Campbell (neck) out for Sunday's game against the Panthers. That pushes Isaiah McDuffie into the starting lineup for what will be his eighth start. McDuffie tallied at least 5 solos in each of those seven previous starts and averaged 9.1 total tackles. He'll be an option for tackle-friendly IDP lineups. McDuffie sits in LB3 territory of our Week 16 rankings. Quay Walker spent the whole practice week limited but carries no injury designation into the game. He should be fine to use. Green Bay also ruled out S Darnell Savage (shoulder).

        11:44am UTC 12/17/23

Packers LB Quay Walker (shoulder) is active for today's game against the Buccaneers. There's some re-injury risk, but he's OK to use as planned in your IDP lineups. S Darnell Savage (shoulder) and CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder) are inactive. Their absences hurt Green Bay's pass defense.

Packers LB Quay Walker (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. He managed limited practices Thursday and Friday, so Walker's at least trending in the right direction. We'll check his status Sunday. CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder) and S Darnell Savage (shoulder) are also questionable.

Packers LB Quay Walker (shoulder) is doubtful for Monday night's game against the Giants. We've knocked him out of the Week 14 LB rankings after a week of missed practices. Isaiah McDuffie will fill in but doesn't carry as much IDP upside.

Packers LB De'Vondre Campbell (neck) is active for tonight's game against the Chiefs. S Rudy Ford (biceps, groin) and S Darnell Savage (calf) are also active. It'll be Savage's first game since Week 7. CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder) is inactive for the fourth straight game.

Packers LB De'Vondre Campbell (neck) is inactive for today's game against the Lions. He seemed on track to play after putting in a full Wednesday practice. Instead Isaiah McDuffie should start in Campbell's place, next to Quay Walker. Check our updated Week 12 LB rankings.
