Joe Mixon Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said that RB Nick Chubb will serve as the Houston Texans' "bell cow" RB in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Texans GM Nick Caserio wouldn't say Wednesday whether RB Joe Mixon (foot/ankle) will play at all this year. "We'll see, we'll take it one day at a time," Caserio said. Mixon will miss at least the first four games of the season on the reserve/non-football injury list. "Once we get through four weeks, we'll evaluate it at that time," Caserio added.

The Houston Texans have placed RB Joe Mixon (ankle) on the reserve/non-football injury list, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. He’ll miss at least the first four games.

Texans RB Joe Mixon hasn't been on the field in a while, and we've seen alternating reports of ankle injury and foot injury. So which is it? Seems like some sort of combo.

Texans RB Nick Chubb (concussion) participated in practice again on Tuesday and split first-team reps, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston.

Texans Wire's Cole Thompson includes RB Nick Chubb as one of the "losers" of training camp so far. "Right now, starting Chubb might be the biggest red flag for Houston long-term," Thompson writes. "So far in camp, that burst needed to get through to the second and third level of the defense is nowhere to be found."

Texans RB Joe Mixon is expected to miss "an extended period of time with a frustrating foot injury," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Mixon has been dealing with an injury for much of the offseason, but it was previously reported as a right ankle. It's unclear if this is a separate injury, or if the initial reporting was bad. Regardless, it sounds like Mixon will miss all of training camp, and "there's a chance" he won't available for Week 1, per Rapoport. Mixon "will be re-evaluated closer to the season to determine his availability," Rapoport adds.

Texans insider Aaron Wilson hears that RB Joe Mixon is "doing great" after injuring his right ankle earlier this offseason. Mixon was in a walking boot at one point but has regained mobility and been able to ramp up his workouts leading into training camp, per Wilson. The Texans will likely ease Mixon into drills early in camp, Wilson adds, but it doesn't sound like he's in any danger of missing the start of the season.

The Texans’ O-line “remains a big question mark” entering training camp, per Mike Jones of The Athletic.
