Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jets DT Quinnen Williams is inactive for today's game against the Rams. He tested his hamstring injury pregame, but it was clearly deemed not ready. His absence is good news for Rams RB Kyren Williams as well as the passing game, which won't have to deal with one of the Jets' best pass rushers.
Jets DT Quinnen Williams will test his hamstring this morning ahead of the 1 p.m. ET game against the Rams, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "If he can go, it'll be in a limited role," Garafolo adds. We've had Williams projected lower than his usual level all week and would be wary of using him in Week 16 IDP lineups. We'll update his status when inactives come out.
Jets CB D.J. Reed (groin) is inactive for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. That leaves the Jets down two of their top three at the position, with slot CB Michael Carter already out. Good thing for them Pittsburgh only has one WR, and he only tries half the time.
The Jets and Edge Haason Reddick have worked out an adjusted contract for the rest of 2024, and he'll report to the team Monday morning. That will finally end a holdout that has been going since the Eagles traded Reddick at the beginning of April.
The Jets have placed S Chuck Clark on IR after he suffered a high ankle sprain in Monday night's loss to the Bills. That knocks Clark our for at least the next four games. That makes him eligible to return for Week 11, with one game before the Jets' Week 12 bye. We'll see what the team does with that. Clark is OK to drop for DB help in most IDP leagues. Ashtyn Davis should fill in for him and has been a player worth challenging in coverage for opponent passing games.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley is active for tonight's game against the Bills. He hasn't played since Week 2 because of a toe injury. It's not yet clear whether Mosley will return to his season-opening role or cede some playing time to Jamien Sherwood, who joined Quincy Williams as a full-timer while Mosley was out.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley is questionable for Monday night's game against the Bills after putting in limited practices all week. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo says "all indications are" that Mosley "should be a go."
Jets LB C.J. Mosley is inactive for tonight's game against the Patriots because of a toe injury. His absence leaves full-time duty for Jamien Sherwood next to Quincy Williams but doesn't change the outlook for the team defense. Check our updated LB rankings to see where the active Jets have landed.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Patriots because of a toe injury. Mosley didn't practice this week, which doesn't bode well for his outlook even if he's active. We've knocked him down the Week 3 rankings for that reason. If Mosley's out, then Jamien Sherwood would join Quincy Williams as full-timers.
Jets Edge Jermaine Johnson II left Sunday's win over the Titans with an Achilles' injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the team believes Johnson tore the tendon. He's headed for an MRI to confirm.
Jets LB CJ Mosley left in the first half of Sunday's game against the Titans, riding a cart from the sideline to the locker room. The team originally called him questionable to return with a foot injury but updated that to doubtful with a toe injury.
The Jets have ruled CB Sauce Gardner out for Sunday's game against the Eagles with a concussion. That leaves New York without its top two corners, as D.J. Reed had already been ruled out. That obviously improves the matchup for Philly WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Gardner's issue didn't show up on the injury report until he missed practice Friday and was initially listed as an illness. A Week 7 bye will help Gardner's chances of not missing further game time.
The Jets have ruled CB D.J. Reed (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. The team also lists CB Sauce Gardner as questionable with an illness, but HC Robert Saleh expects him to play, according to Pro Football Talk.
The Jets have ruled CB D.J. Reed (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Broncos. We'll see if he can make it through the league protocol ahead of a Week 6 meeting with the Eagles.
Jets LB Quincy Williams left Sunday's loss to the Cowboys with a knee injury. HC Robert Saleh after the game would only say that Williams is being evaluated. We'll see about his status for Week 3 against the Patriots.
The Jets are signing former Packers S Adrian Amos to a one-year deal worth "up to" $4 million, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. That's likely enough money to give Amos a shot at winning a starting job. But it's less than the 2023 cap hit for S Chuck Clark, whom the Jets acquired from the Ravens in March for a 2024 seventh-round pick. S Jordan Whitehead got a one-year $5.25 million contract from the Jets in free agency. We'll see how the Jets sort their safeties through the summer, but we're not currently projecting Amos to start in our 2023 IDP rankings.
The Jets spent the 15th overall pick on Edge Will McDonald IV. McDonald posted a pair of double-digit sack seasons across five years at Iowa State. (He redshirted in 2018.) McDonald delivered a lackluster 40 time (4.75 seconds) for his size (239 pounds), though, producing a 31st-percentile speed score among edge players. He joins a Jets defense that could use some juice on the edge, with last year's first-round pick Jermaine Johnson and Carl Lawson as the top incumbents. See where McDonald landed in our pre-draft IDP rookie rankings.
The Jets and LB Quincy Williams have agreed to a three-year, $18 million deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Incentives could push the total value to $21 million. Either way, it signals continued starter duty for Williams. And it's particularly noteworthy because Williams' playing time fluctuated each of the past two years. He closed out 2022 playing more than 80% of snaps in five of the final six games, including more than 90% in each of the final two. This contract makes it look like we can expect more of the same, which boosts the IDP outlook for the 26-year-old (until Aug. 28). Check out where Williams sits in our dynasty LB rankings after this boost.
The Jets listed DT Quinnen Williams (calf) as a limited participant for Monday's practice. That's notable because Williams missed Sunday's loss to the Lions after sitting out practice all last week. We'll watch Williams' status leading up to the Thursday night meeting with the Jaguars.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Jets DT Quinnen Williams (calf) will be inactive for today’s game against the Lions. Williams is officially questionable but missed practice all week. His absence hurts the Jets’ run D (and the pass rush, which is obviously good news for D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams.
