Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. Cooks actually got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday; Collins was sidelined all week. Chris Moore, Phillip Dorsett and Amari Rodgers will again operate as Houston's top 3 WRs this weekend.
Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. That leaves Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers as Houston's top 3 WRs. They're only worth considering as cheap DFS tournament fliers.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (calf) is out for this weekend's game vs. the Browns. He evidently injured his calf on Thursday and didn't practice on Friday. We'll see if he misses time beyond Week 13. His absence on Sunday leaves Nico Collins as Houston's #1 WR, with Chris Moore and Phillip Dorsett the #2 and #3.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks is officially inactive for tonight's game vs. the Eagles. Try to avoid Houston's passing game if you can help it. But if you're playing 1-game DFS contests, the Texans' WRs tonight are Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore, Tyron Johnson and Jalen Camp. Woof.
Texans RB Dameon Pierce managed only 35 yards on his 15 carries in Sunday's loss to the Titans. He did score the team's lone TD, though, on a 3-yard reception in the 4th quarter. He totaled 3 catches for 16 yards among 5 targets, which tied for 2nd on the team. Only WR Brandin Cooks drew more (6), catching 4 balls for 73 yards. WR Phillip Dorsett tied Pierce's target count.
The Texans list WR Nico Collins (groin) as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. He didn’t practice all week, though, and is not expected to play. That’ll leave Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore as Houston’s #2 and #3 WRs – and should mean more targets for WR Brandin Cooks.
Texans WR John Metchie has been diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. "I am currently receiving great medical care, am in good spirits and I expect to make a recovery at a later point in time," Metchie said in a statement. "As a result of this diagnosis, I will likely not be playing football this season. My main focus will be on my health and recovery." We'll keep tabs on Metchie and wish him the best in his recovery. The 2nd-round rookie projected as Houston's slot receiver once recovered from his torn ACL. The Texans are now left with WRs Chris Conley, Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore behind Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. TE Brevin Jordan might also benefit from Metchie's absence.
The Seahawks placed WR D'Wayne Eskridge (concussion) on IR. He'll miss tonight's game vs. the Rams and at least 2 weeks beyond that. Seattle promoted WR Phillip Dorsett from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Dorsett is active for tonight's game.
The Seahawks have signed WR Paul Richardson. He spent his first 4 NFL seasons from 2014 to 2017 in Seattle, posting a career-best 44-703-6 line in that final year. Richardson figures to duke it out with Phillip Dorsett for the #3 WR job. He'd need an injury to Tyler Lockett or D.K. Metcalf to have a shot at real fantasy value.
