Joe Burrow looks good after wrist surgery

Bengals QB Joe Burrow was on the field and throwing as OTAs opened on Monday, according to the team's official site. Burrow resumed throwing earlier this offseason after undergoing right wrist surgery in late November, but this was the first time he did it in a team setting. He looked very close to 100% by all accounts, throwing with his usual velocity.

        What They're Saying

"I think he looked as quick and as athletic as I've seen him look. He looked like the Joe Burrow we're used to seeing. I didn't see any difference. I thought the ball came out of his hand well. Confidently. I'm happy where he's at."
        - QBs coach Brad Kragthorpe

"He looked like he did last year. He looked smooth. I didn't see anything different."
        - WR Trenton Irwin

"You like the amount of power he has on it. I feel like that's what you're really looking for. You like to see the velocity."
        - WR Andrei Iosivas

"He didn't miss a beat … Whatever he did in the offseason worked."
        - WR Kwamie Lassiter

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Burrow is coming off an injury-wrecked 2023 season, first suffering a calf strain in late July that cost him most of August and limited him early in the season. Then he suffered the season-ending wrist injury in Week 11.

Burrow finished 26th among QBs in PPR points per game last year but was coming on before the wrist injury, averaging 296 yards and 2.4 TDs over his final five full games.

Burrow is a prime bounce-back candidate in 2024 with better health. Remember that he finished QB8 in fantasy points in 2021 and QB4 in 2022.

        Other Winners & Losers

A healthy Burrow is excellent news for WRs Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Both guys are nice targets in early fantasy drafts. Chase sometimes falls to pick No. 5 or 6 overall, while Higgins is outside the top 25 WRs in best-ball ADP.
