Tucker Kraft could miss start of training camp

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that TE Tucker Kraft has a pectoral injury that could keep him out until training camp, or early into training camp," according to The Packers Wire's Zach Kruse. Kraft was on the sidelines with his arm in a sling for Tuesday's OTA session. It doesn't sound like he's in any danger of missing the start of the season, barring a setback. But the second-year TE will be missing valuable practice reps.

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Kraft opened last season behind fellow rookie TE Luke Musgrave, catching just five balls over his first 10 games. But Musgrave's Week 11 abdominal injury opened the door for Kraft to take over as Green Bay's lead TE. Over the final seven regular-season games, Kraft averaged 4.7 targets, 3.7 catches, and 44.6 yards per game.

Musgrave was back for the playoffs, but Kraft out-snapped him 102 to 34 and out-targeted him nine to seven.

Musgrave beat Kraft in both yards per route and Pro Football Focus receiving grade on the season. And the Packers took him 36 picks earlier in last year's draft. That has Musgrave as the favorite to lead Packers TEs in snaps this year. But it's likely a fluid situation that could change throughout the summer and season.

Kraft's pectoral injury won't help his chances of gaining on Musgrave, though. We'll see when he's able to get back on the field.

        Projected ADP Movement

Musgrave is currently going TE17 in best-ball ADP -- well ahead of Kraft at TE28. Both guys are worth taking shots on at those prices as young TEs in an ascending passing game. We'll see if this Kraft injury makes Musgrave any more expensive.

Injury History: New Developments & Historical Context

Kraft underwent a "tightrope procedure" on his right ankle in September of 2022. This is his first documented upper-body injury.
