Kyren Williams out until training camp with "foot issue"

Rams RB Kyren Williams is expected to be sidelined until training camp with a "foot issue," HC Sean McVay said. “It’s nothing to worry about. He’ll be ready to go for training camp, but there’s a little issue when he was training, and [I’ll] kind of just leave it at that," McVay added. "But nothing to be concerned about. ... He’ll be ready to roll and be a consistent producer for us this year.”

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Williams was a workhorse last year, averaging 19.0 carries and 2.7 catches per game. The Rams have talked this offseason about scaling back Williams' workload going forward and then used a third-round pick on RB Blake Corum.

It doesn't sound like this foot injury will be a factor come the start of the regular season, but we'll keep a close eye on Williams when training camp opens.

We don't expect Corum to threaten Williams' starting job. But any missed time from Williams would turn Corum into an easy fantasy starter in HC Sean McVay's always-productive running game.

        Projected ADP Movement

Williams has taken a slight hit in ADP since the draft, often going in the middle or back-end of Round 2. It's possible this foot injury spooks some drafters into letting him fall into Round 3. He's a strong value at that point.

Injury History: New Developments & Historical Context

Williams broke his foot during OTAs of his 2022 rookie season, although it's unclear if this latest issue is with the same foot. He also injured an ankle in Week 1 of 2022 and missed four games last year with an ankle injury. He underwent surgery in January after breaking his hand in the Wild Card loss to the Lions.

Our Injury Predictor gives Williams an 88.7% chance of injury this season (fourth highest among RBs) and 3.48 projected games missed (most among RBs).
