The Dolphins and WR Jaylen Waddle agreed to a three-year, $84.75 million contract extension with $76 million guaranteed, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That's a significantly bigger deal than Texans WR Nico Collins just got. Waddle is now one of the five highest-paid WRs in the league. The $76 million guaranteed is the third-largest total for a WR in NFL history, behind only A.J. Brown and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who also got new deals this offseason. Waddle is now signed with Miami through the 2028 season.
Waddle suffered a concussion and high-ankle sprain last year, missing three games and most of a fourth. But his PPR scoring average in his 13 healthy games would have ranked 20th among WRs.
Waddle set career highs last year in both Pro Football Focus receiving grade and yards per route, ranking top-six in both metrics among 80 qualifying WRs. He's just hitting his prime at 25 years old.
A healthy Tyreek Hill caps Waddle's fantasy upside. But Hill dealt with numerous minor injuries last season and turned 30 in March. Any missed time from Hill this year would turn Waddle into a WR1. He posted an 8-142-1 line when Hill missed last year's Week 15 game vs. the Jets.
Waddle is a solid value at his recent WR17 best-ball ADP.
Waddle's three-year extension stabilizes his dynasty value, locking him in with HC Mike McDaniel, whose offense maximizes Waddle's ability.
He's WR12 in recent dynasty ADP -- one spot ahead of where he sits in our dynasty WR rankings.
