Commanders WR Jahan Dotson is excited by what he's seen from QB Jayden Daniels in training camp so far, calling the rookie a "special talent." Daniels had his best day of camp on Tuesday, per The Washington Post's Sam Fortier, connecting on multiple deep passes and breaking off at least one long run.
What They're Saying
“With him, anything is possible,” Dotson said of Daniels. “Me and Terry [McLaurin] were just talking about it on the sideline. [Daniels is] putting the ball in places where it makes our job so much more easier … where only you can get it and the defender has no play on it. You truly got to cherish stuff like that and be thankful for it because not everyone can do that. He’s a special talent.”
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
We've been higher than the market on Daniels all offseason -- and this latest report certainly won't change that.
Daniels' rushing upside is obvious coming off a 1,134-yard, 10-TD season. But don't overlook his passing ability. He posted a sterling 72.2% completion rate and 11.7 yards per attempt last year. Daniels was especially lethal throwing deep, leading the FBS in completion rate, yards per attempt, and passer rating on throws 20+ yards downfield. It sounds like that skill is translating to the next level.
Daniels' combination of passing and rushing ability gives him exciting fantasy upside, especially at his recent QB16 ADP.
Other Winners & Losers
WRs Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson will be big winners if Daniels delivers as a rookie. They dealt with shaky QB play last year, but Daniels could elevate everyone in this offense.
