Even Split Expected for Chase Brown and Zack Moss

Bengals RBs Chase Brown and Zack Moss appear headed for a 50/50 backfield split. After Brown took the majority of first-team snaps early in camp, the expectation has shifted to more of a split backfield, like most expected.

        What They're Saying

Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic: "As for the top two, expectations are still for an even split, though we have seen a good amount of Brown’s running with the first team lately in camp."

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Brown and Moss have been going very close in fantasy drafts and are headed for a very similar snap count. They may be used more in terms of alternating drives than having specific roles.

The Bengals offense itself should have plenty of scoring opportunities for the RBs and both Brown and Moss come at a value in drafts.

We currently prefer Brown for his upside and pass catching, but aren't opposed to selecting Moss as a bench RB as well.

Dehner also noting that Brown has been running more with the first team is also a good sign for Brown's upside. If he does show more effectiveness than Moss, then Brown could take the reins in the backfield and become the lead back.
