WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has signed with the Chiefs after being released by the Patriots over two weeks ago. Smith-Schuster was on the Chiefs back in 2022 where he put up 78 receptions for 933 yards and 3 TDs.
Jordan Schultz: "The Chiefs are expected to sign former Pro Bowl WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, per multiple sources.
JuJu reunites with Kansas City, who looks to add another weapon for Patrick Mahomes."
Schuster was highly thought of in the Chiefs' locker room back in 2022 and earned 101 targets on the season.
He signed with the Patriots entering the next offseason and saw his production dip drastically, catching only 29 passes for 260 yards and a TD.
He was on the roster bubble heading into the offseason and the Patriots released Smith-Schuster when it was clear he would not make the roster.
Being signed within a few weeks after his release shows how highly the Chiefs think of him.
But, it will still be an uphill climb for Smith-Schuster to make a fantasy impact on his new team.
He will clearly be behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Hollywood Brown while competing to make the roster with Skyy Moore, Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman.
Smith-Schuster isn't fantasy-relevant unless multiple injuries happen to the Chiefs WRs.
A loaded supporting cast, improved QB play, and offensive continuity set the stage for Atlanta to deliver serious fantasy value in 2025.
