Jets QB Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock in an easy Week 3 win over the Patriots. He completed 27 of 35 passes (77%) for 281 yards (8.0 YPA), two TDs, and 0 INTs. Rodgers and WR Garrett Wilson weren't on the same page on a few routes (four of the eight incompletions were intended for Wilson), but Rodgers was otherwise deadly accurate to all levels of the field. He even flashed some remaining mobility, carrying three times for 18 yards and making multiple throws on the move. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Rodgers completed all five of his passes when on the run for 62 yards and a TD.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
This was as good as Rodgers has looked in a while -- certainly better than he looked at any point in his final season with the Packers. He hasn't lost any arm strength after that Achilles injury, and he has enough mobility to maneuver within and outside the pocket.
Plus, the Jets offensive line looks much improved (although it lost RT Morgan Moses to a knee injury in this one), and the pass-catching corps has played well. WR Allen Lazard has been a pleasant surprise through two weeks, and WR Mike Williams is rounding into form coming off his ACL tear.
The exciting thing for Rodgers is that he hasn't even gotten rolling with WR Garrett Wilson yet. Rodgers has completed just 58% of his passes at 5.8 yards per attempt when targeting Wilson. The pair had their wires crossed on multiple routes on Thursday night.
"Once 5 and I get on the same page, it's gonna be special," Rodgers said after the win.
Fantasy owners who are streaming at QB should consider grabbing Rodgers for his plus Week 4 matchup against the Broncos. That's followed by neutral draws at Minnesota and home for Buffalo.
