Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf snagged 7 receptions for 104 yards in Monday night's loss at Detroit. He narrowly missed scoring a second-quarter TD from 30 yards out, going down just short of the goal line to set up a short Kenneth Walker scoring run. Metcalf also lost a key first-half fumble, though. His 12 targets tied Jaxon Smith-Njigba for the team lead on a high-volume passing night (56 team attempts). This marked Metcalf's third straight game with more than 100 yards.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Metcalf interestingly has yet to lead Seattle in targets by himself for a game this season. That's not necessarily a negative, as he does lead the team in total targets and receiving yards -- by 140.
Metcalf ranks third in the league with 366 yards and tied for eighth in receptions. He ranks just 29th league wide in target share but 15th in air-yards share.
The target spread among Seahawks WRs serves as a weekly scoring challenge, but Seattle has mitigated that challenge by throwing more passes than any other team in the league.
Metcalf might have trouble maintaining his current WR1-level scoring. But he's only a "sell" candidate if you can find someone paying that WR1 price in trade.
