Giants QB Daniel Jones put up a stinker in Sunday night's loss to the Bengals, despite facing the defense that entered the week as the fourth-friendliest scoring matchup for QBs. Jones threw for just 205 yards on 22-of-41 passing, with 0 TDs and 1 (bad) INT. He did at least add a team-leading 56 rushing yards.

Jones' INT came on a first-and-10 from the Bengals' 14-yard line in the first quarter. With a rushing DT in his face, Jones flung a free ball up that landed in the arms of Cincinnati LB Germaine Pratt.
HC Brian Daboll said afterward that Jones was trying to throw it out the back of the end zone. But if he actually thought that would work, then the QB either hasn't watched enough film on his own (lack of) arm strength or needs to study physics.
Jones also continued to lack any downfield production. His long pass play went for 15 yards to Wan'Dale Robinson. He did have another 56-yard connection with Darius Slayton, but an ineligible man downfield negated that play.
Jones capped his night by glaringly missing open options while opting for a covered Slayton on a failed fourth-down conversion attempt.
The QB hasn't thrown a TD pass at home in five starts there since the end of the 2022 season. He also remains terrible in primetime games.
Both of those trends seem more fluky than something we should factor into projecting Jones. But each game added to the trends makes them more difficult to ignore.
Don't expect Jones to crack the top 12 in our Week 7 QB rankings for a home date with the Eagles -- though he'll carry some upside against a soft defense for deeper leagues.
A tougher matchup awaits at Pittsburgh in Week 8, with a home date against Washington and a visit to Carolina beyond that.
