Jets QB Aaron Rodgers headed into halftime of Thursday night's game vs. the Texans with 32 scoreless yards on 7-of-14 passing. The offense looked disjointed, and Rodgers missed deep throws to WRs Davante Adams and Mike Williams. But Rodgers saved his fantasy outing -- and the Jets' season -- with his best 30 minutes of football after the break. Rodgers completed 15 of 18 passes for 179 yards and three TDs in the second half of the 21-13 win. The first two scores went to WR Garrett Wilson on one-handed catches, with the second being one of the best grabs you'll ever see. Rodgers then hooked up with BFF Davante Adams deep down the right sideline for a 37-yard TD to seal the win.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
This was a much-needed slump buster for Rodgers -- and a reminder of how good this Jets offense can be when firing on all cylinders. That hasn't happened nearly enough, though. Rodgers entered this one with seven total TDs over his previous five games.
We'll see if this ends up being the start of a strong second half for the Jets. The schedule will certainly help Rodgers' chances. New York has the sixth-easiest QB schedule the rest of the way, including three straight positive matchups vs. the Cardinals, Colts, and Seahawks surrounding a Week 12 bye. There are two negative matchups between Weeks 14 and 17 vs. the Dolphins and Bills, although Miami's pass defense probably isn't as strong as the current numbers suggest.
You don't want to be relying on Rodgers as an every-week QB1 the rest of the way, but he certainly has a chance to be a useful spot starter in those plus matchups.
