Colts QB Anthony Richardson has been announced as the starter by HC Shane Steichen. After spending two weeks as the back-up to QB Joe Flacco, Richardson is back in the starting role. The Colts are currently 4-6 and in desperation mode to get back into the playoff hunt in the AFC
Adam Schefter of ESPN: "Anthony Richardson will return to the starting role after spending the past two weeks backing up Joe Flacco. Richardson now will be the Colts’ starter for the rest of the season, per HC Shane Steichen."
Richardson's rushing ability still gives him fantasy upside, but this significantly hurts the receiving weapons, including WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman.
There was growing fan and locker room outcry about the move to Flacco at QB, so Steichen waffles on the QB move and goes back to the second year QB.
Unfortunately, Richardson comes back to a difficult match-up against a Jets defense that has been very good against the pass and shined at times against the run as well.
It will be a true challenge to see where Richardson is developmentally (and as a fantasy QB) along with if he can support fantasy weapons with his passing.
