Cardinals QB Kyler Murray said in a recent interview that he "feels like" he needs to run more in 2025. "I'm open to running more next year," he added. "Just because it's such a weapon. ... It's part of the emphasis going into next season."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This would certainly be a welcome change for Murray, who's seen his rush attempts per game and designed rush attempts per game steadily decline over the last few years.
Rush Attempts Per Game
- 2019: 5.8
- 2020: 8.3
- 2021: 6.3
- 2022: 6.1
- 2023: 5.5
- 2024: 4.6
Designed Rush Attempts Per Game
- 2019: 4.1
- 2020: 5.1
- 2021: 4.1
- 2022: 3.9
- 2023: 3.5
- 2024: 2.2
Murray has remained effective when running, averaging a personal-best 7.3 yards per carry last year. His career 6.0 yards per carry ranks seventh all time among QBs with at least 300 attempts.
We'll see whether the Cardinals follow through on this plan come September. But more running would boost Murray's fantasy ceiling and floor.
He's fairly priced at a QB9 ADP right now.
