NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that WR Chris Godwin won't play in Week 1 and could be sidelined for a month, with Week 5 being his return "target date".
Rapoport: "The #Bucs will be without WR Chris Godwin today, as he recovers from a second surgery on his ankle, this time to tighten up hardware. {Godwin} should return to practice soon, and Week 5 is the target for a return. W6 or 7 is also possible."
Obviously a blow for Godwin holder.
However, it could prove to be a boon for Emeka Egbuka, who will take over slot duties while Godwin recovers.
