Week 14 DraftKings Cash-Game Picks

By Jared Smola | Updated on Mon, 11 Mar 2024 . 5:37 PM EDT

Top Plays for Head-to-Head and 50/50 Contests

Here are the guys I’m zeroing in on for DraftKings Week 14 cash games:

Quarterback

Brock Purdy, 49ers ($6,500)

Purdy has delivered as our cash-game QB in Weeks 11 (29.7 DK points) and 13 (32.5 DK points).

He’s scored 23+ points in four of his last five outings overall.

The exception was the Week 12 game against the Seahawks. But that was a road, divisional game on a short week.

We’ll give him a mulligan – and bet on a much more productive outing in the rematch.

Seattle ranks just 26th in pass defense DVOA and 14th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs.

The 49ers’ 28.75-point implied total this week is 3.75 points higher than any other team on the main slate.

Also consider:

  • Russell Wilson, Broncos ($5,800)

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey, 49ers ($9,200)

The Seahawks ranked 12th in run defense DVOA over the first eight weeks of the season.

They’ve sagged to 26th over the last five weeks, coughing up 5.2 yards per carry to RBs.

That stretch included a 33.9-point outing from McCaffrey.

Zack Moss, Colts ($5,900)

Moss was a colossal chalk bust last week.

But the usage was awesome:

  • 94% snap rate
  • 69% route rate
  • 19 of 19 RB carries
  • 3 of 6 RB targets

Moss ranked fifth among RBs in expected PPR points. He was simply stymied by a stout Titans run defense.

The matchup is much easier on Sunday against the Bengals, who rank 29th in run defense DVOA and allow 4.5 yards per carry to RBs.

Javonte Williams, Broncos ($5,800)

Williams is clearly still missing some explosion after last year’s multi-ligament knee injury. He’s gone five straight games without reaching 4.0 yards per carry.

That caps his ceiling a bit. But his volume lays a lofty floor.

Here are Williams’ total opportunities (carries + targets) over his last six games:

  • 19
  • 30
  • 25
  • 13
  • 24
  • 16

He could be even busier this weekend, particularly in the passing game, if RB Samaje Perine’s knee injury keeps him out.

And the matchup is excellent against the Chargers, who rank 22nd in run defense DVOA and 21st in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.

Also consider:

  • Bijan Robinson, Falcons ($6,500)

Wide Receivers

D.J. Moore, Bears ($6,500)

Moore's last six games with QB Justin Fields:

  • 54 targets (31% share)
  • 43 catches
  • 716 yards
  • 6 TDs

That includes a 7-96-1 outing vs. the Lions, who Moore gets again this weekend.

Detroit’s pass defense comes limping into this one, ranking 30th in DVOA over the last five weeks.

Rashee Rice, Chiefs ($5,400)

The Chiefs still refuse to make Rice a full-time player. But that hasn’t stopped him from garnering 19 targets over the past two weeks.

The rookie clearly has the most trust from QB Patrick Mahomes among Kansas City’s WRs.

I expect RB Isiah Pacheco’s absence this weekend to make the Chiefs even pass-heavier than usual.

The matchup should push them in that direction, too. Over the past five weeks, Buffalo ranks third in run defense DVOA but 24th in pass defense DVOA.

The Bills have allowed at least one WR to score 17+ DK points in five of their last six games.

Drake London, Falcons ($4,600)

London threw up a predictable dud vs. the Jets’ top-ranked WR defense last week.

It was only the fourth time this season that he’s failed to hit double-digit DraftKings points. He’s drawn 7+ targets in seven of 11 games and caught 5+ balls in six of 11.

London has three things working in his favor this week:

  1. He’s at home, where he’s averaged 14.4 DK points per game this season (vs. 7.9 on the road).
  2. He gets a pass-funnel Bucs defense that ranks fourth in pass rate over expected against. That could push Atlanta to pass at least a bit more. Tampa also ranks 29th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs.
  3. He’s cheap. London’s $4,600 salary is the lowest it’s been all season.

Also consider:

  • Michael Pittman, Colts ($7,300)
  • Elijah Moore, Browns ($4,500)

Tight Ends

Cade Otton, Buccaneers ($3,100)

Otton is coming off a Week 13 goose egg.

But he was still in a route on an elite 94% of Bucs pass plays. It was Otton’s ninth straight game with a route rate north of 82%.

He’d caught 4+ passes in five of six games prior to last week – a stretch that started with a 5-43-0 line vs. the Falcons, who rank 23rd in adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs.

So, despite last week’s result, Otton remains a low-cost, high-floor play for cash games.

Also consider:

  • David Njoku, Browns ($4,100)

Defense/Special Teams

Browns ($3,000)

Cleveland’s defense has slumped the past two weeks.

But it’s getting healthier, with DE Myles Garrett off this week’s injury report and CB Denzel Ward likely to return after a two-game absence.

The Browns are at home this week for a Jaguars squad that will be starting either C.J. Beathard or a gimpy Trevor Lawrence at QB. Starting LT Walker Little is out.

Jacksonville’s 15.5-point implied total is second-lowest on the main slate.
