Week 14 FanDuel Tournament Picks

By Jared Smola | Updated on Tue, 23 May 2023 . 1:27 PM EDT

QB

Justin Herbert ($8,300)

Coming off of his worst game as a pro, I will be going right back to Herbert in a prime bounce-back spot against the league’s worst defense at defending opposing QBs.

Atlanta has given up the most fantasy points to opposing QBs and I think the Chargers will play angry after a 45-0 loss to the Patriots in Week 13. HC Anthony Lynn is coaching for his job at this point and the Chargers should be fully motivated going up against a terrible defense in perfect conditions.

Herbert has been amazing all season, so one bad game against a tricky defense in the Patriots does not scare me. I expect Herbert to have a monster game with over 300+ yards and multiple TD passes.

Herbert will be my highest owned QB as I will look to roster him in at least 25% of my GPP lineups.

RBs

Derrick Henry ($9,600)

Henry was a huge letdown last week as he ran for just 60 yards in a loss to the Browns. He was one of the higher owned backs on the slate and may come in lower owned this week as a result of letting so many people down.

Week 14 against the Jags is a perfect spot for Henry and the Titans to bounce back as the Jags have lost 11 in a row. Only 3 teams have allowed more fantasy points to opposing RBs.

The Jags are allowing an average of 156 all purpose-yards to opposing RBs and I expect Henry to maybe eclipse 100+ rushing yards by halftime in a dominating win for the Titans.

Henry had a game against the Jags last season with 238 yards and 4 TDs and that is in his range of outcomes in a nut matchup and a must-win situation against a helpless Jaguars team.

I will aggressively be using Henry in at least 50% of my Week 14 GPP lineups.

Giovani Bernard ($5,700)

Bernard may fly under the radar this week with 4 straight games with fewer than 32 rushing yards and 7.5 FD points.

He now gets a great Week 14 matchup against a Cowboys rush defense that has been terrible all season and has given up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing RBs.

Game script should allow Gio to be used as the Bengals’ main ball carrier and pass-catcher out of the backfield as he has still easily out-touched Samaje Perine in the last few weeks.

Gio may not project well this week due to disappointing results over the last month. But priced under $6K in an excellent matchup, he’ll be in at least 20% of my lineups.

WRs

Devante Parker ($6,500)

The outlook for Parker vastly improves when Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starter. But Tua Tagovailoa did show some improvement as a passer last week with 296 yards. He still hasn’t thrown an INT on the season.

Parker has been the Dolphins’ most heavily targeted player, even with Tua in the lineup, as Parker has 4 more targets than 2nd place Mike Gesicki and Jakeem Grant.

The Chiefs have given up the 3rd fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs — but I like the upside of Parker in a game environment where the Dolphins may be trying to catch up.

Priced at $6,500, I will be looking to use Parker in lineups where I am rostering Patrick Mahomes and other Chiefs pass-catchers.

Sammy Watkins ($5,600)

Watkins is always the forgotten man in the Chiefs offense behind Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

Watkins does have elite upside, though, as he has blown up for a few big games during his time in KC. He has looked healthy since coming off injury with 13 targets in his last 2 games.

If the Dolphins defense decides to key in on Hill and Kelce, Watkins should have plenty of 1 on 1 opportunities against the Dolphins secondary. And we all know Mahomes is capable of getting him the ball down the field.

I’ll be rostering Sammy in at least 15% of my Week 14 GPP lineups.

TE

Robert Tonyan ($5,900)

Tonyan has been a fairly consistent producer for Aaron Rodgers with 5 targets and a TD in 3 consecutive games. Everyone knows Davante Adams is the guy in Green Bay, but Tonyan is certainly Rodgers’ #2 option, especially down in the red zone.

The TE position as a whole is extremely weak, so I’m targeting TDs. Tonyan has excelled in that department, with 8 scores on the season.

Lions-Packers features the week’s highest over/under, which further enhances red zone opportunities for Tonyan and the Packers offense.

I’ll be rostering Tonyan in at least 20% of my lineups.

DST

Giants ($3,700)

The Giants are an exceptional value on FanDuel, priced all the way below $4K in a home matchup against the struggling Cardinals.

The Giants defense has been impressive of late, holding 3 straight opponents under 20 points and limiting a high-flying Seahawks offense to just 10 points last week.

The G-Men were able to sack Russell Wilson 5 times last week and should have similar success against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ weak offensive line.

Murray has recently struggled as he was unable to accumulate 175+ passing yards in either of his last 2 games. He also threw a terrible pick 6 to the Rams last week and fumbled the ball twice.

I love the upside of the Giants at a very affordable price this week and will be using them in at least 20% of my GPP lineups.
