Week 4 FanDuel Tournament Picks
NFL DFS Picks for Tournament and GPP Play
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford, Rams ($6,600) at Colts
Ownership projection: 5%
Stafford enters a matchup that could translate into extra opportunities.
The Rams already rank sixth in plays per game, but now they face a Colts squad sitting second in situation-neutral pace.
Stafford might also catch the Colts without DL DeForest Buckner, who missed practice all week. His absence would be huge for a Rams O-line with several weak links.
Also consider: Tua Tagovailoa
Running Back
Josh Jacobs, Raiders ($8,200) at Chargers
Ownership projection: 10%
Jacobs saw 22 opportunities in two close games this season. (He was blanked in the other, a Week 2 loss to Buffalo.)
This matchup with the Chargers should stay fairly close – at least according to the oddsmakers. Vegas enters as 5.5-point road underdogs.
Now, we’ll see if Jimmy Garoppolo is able to clear concussion protocol. If he does, Jacobs will enter a breakout spot against a Chargers unit slotted 27th in rush DVOA. As a bonus: S Derwin James is out, and EDGE Joey Bosa is likely to play limited snaps with a hamstring injury.
DeVon Achane, Dolphins ($6,300) at Bills
Ownership projection: 3%
Achane sits RB18 in median projection but RB10 in ceiling projection.
That’s the profile I’m looking for at a $6.3K price tag.
Achane’s a solid bet for double digit touches, and the game environment is ideal with Miami in a 53.5-point game total.
Also consider: Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, Rhamondre Stevenson, Chuba Hubbard (if Miles Sanders is out)
Wide Receiver
Stefon Diggs, Bills ($8,700) vs. Dolphins
Ownership projection: 13%
Diggs enters in fine form. He has hit 7+ catches in all three games; 100+ yards in two of three.
Top CB Xavien Howard has struggled early on for Miami. Per Pro Football Focus, he’s allowed a 72.7% completion rate on throws into his coverage. His 41.7 PFF coverage grade ranks 50th among 51 qualifiers.
Tee Higgins, Bengals ($7,300) at Titans
Ownership projection: 7%
Tennessee ranks 29th in fantasy scoring vs. opposing WRs. Only three teams have surrendered more yards to the posiiton.
Joe Burrow appears healthier entering Week 4, too. He’s peppered Higgins with 8+ targets in each of the first three games.
Quentin Johnston, Chargers ($5,200) vs. Raiders
Ownership projection: 4%
Mike Williams vacates a 22% target share. 28% of Williams' targets came downfield (20+ air yards) -- a top-5 mark among WRs.
Johnston’s speed should help fill the void. But no matter the target depth, he’ll catch passes from one of the league’s hottest QBs. Plus, the Raider supply additional upside given their lack of secondary talent.
Also consider: A.J. Brown, Puka Nacua, Jaylen Waddle, Jahan Dotson
Tight End
Chig Okonkwo, Titans ($4,700) vs. Bengals
Ownership projection: 8%
Treylon Burks was ruled out on Friday. His absence leaves nearly 5 targets per game unaccounted for.
Okonkwo hasn’t cracked 6 FanDuel points to date. Still, this matchup and the availability of additional targets puts him on the tournament map. Recall some of Okonkwo's electric underlying metrics from Year 1, like his 7.8 yards after catch per reception and his 2.61 yards per route run.
Also consider: George Kittle
Defense
Bengals ($4,100) at Titans
Ownership projection: 4%
Also consider: Rams
