Week 7 FanDuel Tournament Picks

By Jared Smola | Updated on Tue, 23 May 2023 . 1:27 PM EDT

QBs

Russell Wilson ($8,700)

Russ comes in priced as the QB3 on FanDuel and the 4th ranked QB in our dollars-per-point rankings. Russ is 6-1 in his last 7 games off a bye week and may catch a Cardinals team sleeping after a big Monday Night Football win over America’s team.

The Cardinals defense isn’t one to be feared, especially without stud DE Chandler Jones out for the season with a biceps tendon tear. The matchups on the outside are favorable as well with Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

Russ has been a monster this season with at least 3 TDs or 360+ yards passing in every game. In a projected up-tempo matchup, I can see Russ throwing for 4+ TDs and will be rostering him in at least 30% of my Week 7 GPP lineups.

Deshaun Watson ($8,000)

It’s essential to play QBs with upside, especially on FanDuel, as there are only a handful of QBs with a 30-40 point ceiling. Deshaun Watson is one of them. He’s been elite the last 2 weeks with over 300+ yards and 3+ TDs against the Jaguars and Titans.

Watson should keep it going this week against a Packers team that ranks 26th against opposing QBs. I think the Packers and Texans offenses will both succeed, which should help game flow and keep Watson throwing early and often.

Watson ranks 5th in our dollars-per-point rankings with a projected ceiling of 26 FanDuel points. I will be rostering him in at least 20% of my Week 7 GPP lineups.

RBs

Alvin Kamara ($9,300)

Kamara is a tough fade this week as he has the highest ceiling among all RBs at 21.4 FanDuel points.

The Saints are coming off a bye week in a tasty matchup against the Panthers’ leaky defense, which ranks 26th against the run. Kamara is the real deal as he is always a threat for a multi-score game and 100+ both on the ground and in the air.

Kamara is averaging over 25+ points on the season with 7 TDs in 5 games.

I will be rostering Kamara in at least 30% of my Week 7 GPP lineups.

Jerick McKinnon ($5,500)

McKinnon has a nice price tag at just $5,500 and a decent matchup against the 18th ranked Patriots rush defense.

Teammate Raheem Mostert is missing the game due to injury, which should allow McKinnon to handle the bulk of the RB workload. McKinnon ranks 7th in dollars-per-projected-point with a solid floor of 10.8.

Priced as the RB30 on FanDuel, McKinnon has plenty of room for upside and I’ll be looking to overweight the field with him in at least 20% of my Week 7 GPP lineups.

WR

Tyler Lockett ($7,400)

Lockett is in play every week as he and D.K. Metcalf easily lead Seattle in targets with over 15 more than the next closest option in the passing game.

Lockett is my preferred GPP play since he should come in at lower ownership with just 6 catches for 79 yards in his previous 2 games.

Arizona ranks 10th against the pass, but Lockett will be primarily running routes in the slot, where fellow slot WRs Jamison Crowder and CeeDee Lamb lit up the Cardinals for a combined 15 catches for 180 yards and a TD.

Lockett is my favorite GPP play of Week 7 and I’m hoping for a repeat of Week 3 when he went for 100 yards and 3 scores, finishing as the overall WR1 on the week.

Robby Anderson ($6,400)

Anderson is mis-priced on FanDuel — probably because he hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1.

He has been consistent, however, with 13.82 FanDuel points per game and 4 games this season with 99+ yards through the air.

The Saints defense has struggled this season, ranking 15th against the pass, and is coming off a game where they gave up 4 TDs to Justin Herbert and the injury-plagued Chargers.

Anderson ranks 5th in dollars-per-projected-points. I’ll be looking to roster him in at least 20% of my GPP lineups.

TE

Travis Kelce ($7,900)

The TE options are few and far between this week, so I think it makes a lot of sense to pay up for Kelce, who has been a monster with at least 70 yards or a TD in every game this season.

With George Kittle going up against a solid Patriots defense, Kelce has easily the highest TE floor/ceiling combo on the slate and could easily pull away from the field if he has one of his patented 100-yard, 2-score games against the Broncos’ 9th ranked pass defense.

With limited TE options in Week 7, I will look to aggressively roster Kelce in at least 40% of my GPP lineups.

DST

Washington ($3,800)

I didn’t see much I liked at defense this week, so I am trusting the Draft Sharks projections with Washington ranking at the top of the value list against the struggling Cowboys offense with Andy Dalton.

If Zach Martin (concussion) misses the game, it will be all backups in at offensive line going up against a strong Washington front 7 that has 16 sacks through 6 games.

Priced 14th among DSTs on FanDuel, Washington will be among my higher owned defenses on the Week 7 slate.
