Ken Walker Takes Slight Lead Over Zach Charbonnet In Week 4

By Jared Smola | Updated on Fri, Sep 26 2025 1:36 PM UTC
        Kenneth Walker III Headshot

The Seahawks backfield devolved back into a committee with RB Zach Charbonnet's return for Thursday night's game vs. the Cardinals. But, for the first time in their three games together this season, RB Ken Walker led the way in snaps. It was a slight edge: 50% to 47%. And Charbonnet held a slim lead in routes, 42% to 39%. But Walker was again the more effective runner, averaging 4.3 yards per carry to Charbonnet's 3.3. Walker had explosive runs of 21 and 20 yards, plus a 29-yard catch and run early in the game. Charbonnet did, however, dominate snaps when Seattle got inside Arizona's 10-yard line. He got both official carries inside the 10, scoring a one-yard TD in the second quarter. And he had a seven-yard score in the fourth quarter called back by a holding penalty on WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba. It was a good call, but Charbonnet probably scores even without the hold.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Charbonnet isn't going away. And his usage near the goal-line is particularly concerning for Walker's fantasy upside.

But Walker continues to look like the player better among the two. He's averaging 4.2 yards per carry on the season to Charbonnet's 2.5. Walker also leads in:

        • Yards after contact per attempt (2.53 to 2.21)
        • Missed tackles forced per attempt (0.22 to 0.18)
        • Pro Football Focus rushing grade (79.7 to 65.8)

Don't be surprised if Walker continues to distance himself from Charbonnet, at least in terms of early-down snaps and carries outside the 10-yard line. Consider Walker a RB2 and Charbonnet a RB3 for now -- and we'll continue to keep a close eye on the usage in this backfield.
