WR Rashid Shaheed was traded from the New Orleans Saints to the Seattle Seahawks at the trade deadline, adding more weapons for QB Sam Darnold. The move breathes new fantasy life into Shaheed, who was struggling to perform consistently with QBs Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough in New Orleans. Now he joins Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp as a deep threat to take the top off the defense. It is an upgrade for Shaheed and the Seahawks. The Saints receive a fourth and fifth round pick for Shaheed.
What They're Saying
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network: "Trade! The Saints are sending WR Rashid Shaheed to the Seahawks, sources tell me and Ian Rapoport"
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Shaheed had only hit 100-yards in one game this season and hasn't had a TD in his last four games. The Saints ranked 22nd in passing yards per game with 197, just not enough to support Shaheed behind Chris Olave.
Now he joins a Seahawks team that ranks fourth with 255 passing yards per game despite JSN dominating in receiving categories. That should open up some deep target opportunities weekly for Shaheed
He becomes a potential flex play in good match-ups with a high ceiling and low floor.
This does cause rookie WR Tory Horton to lose his shine after a 2 TD performance.
Dynasty Impact
This also breaths some life into Shaheed for dynasty as he remains locked into a competent passing game and QB for the future.
