Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin caught three balls for a team-high 78 yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. He saw just five targets on a modest passing day, accounting for 19.2% of QB Baker Mayfield's targeted throws. Godwin tied for second on the team in receptions (trailing Emeka Egbuka by one) and played a larger role than in his Week 12 return from injury.
What They're Saying
Mayfield, after the game: "Chris looks really good. He looks better this time around coming back than he did earlier in the year. Just classic Chris. He’s in the right spot at the right time. Understands what we’re trying to get done. Does all the right things. … Just a consummate professional that we’re really lucky to have and happy to have him back."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Godwin's playing-time numbers are probably more important than the receiving production here.
He ran a route on 65.7% of Bucs dropbacks, according to Pro Football Focus. That's not all the way back to full Godwin, but it marked a large increase from his 41.9% rate of Week 12.
Godwin also climbed from fourth among Bucs WRs in playing time that game to second against Arizona.
That makes Godwin more usable for merely OK matchups with the Saints and Falcons the next two weeks.
Trips to Carolina and Miami the following two weeks have been worse for WR scoring.
