Matthew Stafford Headshot

The Rams' 27-7 loss to the 49ers produced their fewest points in any game with Matthew Stafford at QB. Stafford's Australia morning ended with 15 completions on 25 attempts for 155 yards, an interception, and just 4.1 fantasy points. It’s the fewest points that Stafford has scored in a week since he played for the Lions and left a game early due to an ankle injury.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Panic Can Wait

It’s a rather safe bet to assume we won’t see Stafford score fewer points in any other week this season. He was held under 10.0 fantasy points just once last year, and it was in week six when he scored 9.3 against the Ravens.

Last season, he averaged 20.6 fantasy points per game en route to a QB3 overall finish. With star WR Puka Nacua healthy, it’s reasonable to expect similar production the rest of the way.

For the time being, this performance should be treated as an anomaly. Between the cross-country travel, lack of preseason reps, and the season opener, there are plenty of possible reasons for Stafford’s poor output.

But if he struggles again, questions about whether he can still produce at a high level in his 18th season will only grow.
