Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Seahawks RB Chris Carson (neck) won't play vs. the Packers on Sunday, HC Pete Carroll said. Carson returned to practice this week but hasn't been cleared to play by doctors. If and when he'll get that clearance is uncertain. Alex Collins should continue to operate as Seattle's lead back this weekend, but Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas all mixed in last time we saw the Seahawks.
Seahawks RB Chris Carson (neck) has been designated to return from IR. That means he'll get back on the practice field this week, but it remains uncertain whether he'll play vs. the Packers on Sunday. We'll continue to keep you updated on the situation.
Seahawks RB Alex Collins (groin) is active for today’s game against the Jaguars. He got in just 2 limited practices this week, but there was never much concern about his availability for this one. Collins is the best bet for touches in Seattle’s backfield but figures to be in a timeshare with Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas.
The Seahawks expect RB Alex Collins (groin) to play today against the Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Officially questionable, Collins figures to share touches with Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer. We'd be on him leading that group, but Collins isn't a high-end fantasy option this week.
Seahawks RB Alex Collins (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Just like last week, he was sidelined on Thursday before returning to a limited practice on Friday. We’re expecting Collins to play this weekend. But he’s not at 100% and will likely lead a committee backfield alongside Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas. It leaves Collins as just a RB3 or flex play.
Seahawks RBs Alex Collins (groin) and Rashaad Penny (calf) are active for tonight's game vs. the Saints. Collins got in just 1 limited practice this week, so it's safe to assume he's not at 100% tonight. It's Penny's 1st game since Week 1. RBs DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer are also active for Seattle.
As expected, the Seahawks have activated RB Rashaad Penny from IR. That makes him available to play against the Saints tonight. We certainly expect him to factor into the backfield work. Penny would get an upside boost if Alex Collins turns up inactive. He's questionable with a groin injury, but HC Pete Carroll said after Saturday's practice that Collins "looked good today, so he's ready to go," according to the team website. We'd bet on Collins leading the backfield tonight after he performed surprisingly well at Pittsburgh.
Seahawks RB Alex Collins (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Saints. He only got in a limited practice on Saturday, but HC Pete Carroll said he'll play on Monday. "He looked good today so he's ready to go," Carroll said Saturday. "We were planning on giving him a break on the first day anyway, we just gave him one more just to bounce back and he looked fine, so he'll be part of the rotation." That "rotation" figures to include RB Rashaad Penny, who's expected to be activated from IR for this game. It's a murky backfield for fantasy purposes this week.
Seahawks RB Alex Collins (groin) remained sidelined for Friday's practice. He's trending toward missing Monday night's game vs. the Saints, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
So much for Seahawks RB Alex Collins practicing on Thursday, as HC Pete Carroll said. Collins did not practice, according to the team's official injury report. He's listed with a groin, rather than the previously reported hip and glute injuries. Collins' availability for Monday night's game vs. the Saints is uncertain. We're still waiting to see if RB Rashaad Penny (calf) will be activated for that one.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said RB Alex Collins (hip, glute) will practice on Thursday. That presumably puts him on track to play vs. the Saints on Monday night, but we'll keep an eye on him over the next few days. Collins has handled 35 carries and 4 targets over the last 2 weeks but might need to contend with the return of RB Rashaad Penny on Monday
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that RB Alex Collins (hip, glute) has a chance to play against the Saints this weekend. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement from the usually optimistic Carroll. We'll monitor Collins' status throughout this week. We'll also keep an eye on RB Rashaad Penny (calf), who's eligible to come off IR this week. DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer are Seattle's other RBs right now.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said after Sunday night's loss to the Steelers that RB Alex Collins missed the OT portion with hip and glute injuries, according to John Boyle of the team website. Carroll said he didn't yet know whether the issues would affect Collins' Week 7 status. We'll keep an eye on him as well as the rest of Seattle's backfield this week. Rashaad Penny is eligible to come off IR at any point. Chris Carson, however, will miss at least 2 more games for his neck issue.
Seahawks RB Chris Carson has been placed on IR with his neck injury. He's out for at least the next 3 games. Seattle has a Week 9 bye, so Week 10 is the earliest we could see Carson back on the field. It's unclear if he'll even be ready then. Carson is certainly droppable if you're hard up for a roster spot. Alex Collins will serve as the Seahawks' lead back the next 3 weeks vs. the Steelers, Saints and Jaguars.
