James Robinson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Giants have released RB James Robinson, making them the second team to do so this offseason. This likely signals the end of an NFL career for Robinson, who did nothing with the Jets last year after arriving in trade from the Jaguars.

The Giants are signing RB James Robinson, insider Art Stapleton reports. Robinson opened last season as Jacksonville's lead back but quickly fell behind Travis Etienne and was traded to the Jets in October. He carried just 29 times for New York and was a healthy scratch for multiple games. Robinson joins Matt Breida, Gary Brightwell, and rookie Eric Gray behind the still-unsigned Saquon Barkley on the Giants' depth chart. We'll see how that backfield shakes out over the next month, but Robinson is no more than an end-of-draft fantasy flier.

The Patriots released RB James Robinson. This was always a distinct possibility considering Robinson had $0 guaranteed money in his contract, although it's a bit surprising that he didn't even make it to training camp. Robinson turns just 25 in August but hasn't been the same player since his 2021 Achilles tear. We'll see where he latches on next, but Robinson isn't worth a roster spot in redraft leagues and has very little dynasty value at this point. His departure leaves RBs Pierre Strong, Kevin Harris, Ty Montgomery, and J.J. Taylor behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson.

The Patriots have agreed to a two-year deal with RB James Robinson. According to multiple reports, it's worth "up to" $8 million. We'll be curious to see what the real value of this contract is. That could signal how big a role the team is planning. The Jaguars traded Robinson for just a sixth-round pick last year, and then he touched the ball just 31 times with the Jets. We're not betting on big stuff from him this year. This move might actually be good news for RB Rhamondre Stevenson. We figured New England would bring in at least one new RB, with Damien Harris hitting the open market. If Robinson winds up the biggest addition, then Stevenson will be well set up for RB1 upside. He finished last season 11th among RBs in PPR points per game.

Jets RB Zonovan Knight (ankle) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was listed as questionable but put in a full week of practice, so we’re not expecting the ankle to be much of an issue. RB James Robinson is a healthy scratch again for Jacksonville, also suggesting confidence in Knight’s health.

Jets HC Robert Saleh labeled RB Zonovan Knight questionable but "arrow up" for Thursday night's game vs. the Jaguars, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. Knight missed some time in yesterday's loss to the Lions with an ankle injury but eventually returned. We'll keep a close eye on his status over the next couple of days. If Knight can't play on Thursday, we'd likely see RB Michael Carter lead a committee alongside Ty Johnson and James Robinson.

Jets RB James Robinson is again a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Lions. RB Ty Johnson is active but didn't play a single offensive snap last week. RBs Zonovan Knight and Michael Carter figure to handle most, if not all, of the backfield work today.

Jets RB James Robinson is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Bills. RB Michael Carter is back and will join Zonovan Knight and Ty Johnson in New York's backfield.
