Tyler Conklin Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (personal) is out for today's game vs. the Jaguars. We'll look for more details on his situation and whether he'll be back for Week 16. His absence leaves Jeremy Ruckert as New York's likely lead TE, but he'd be a total desperation fantasy play.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. He popped up on the injury report on Friday and was listed as questionable. Conklin has just 10 targets over the last three games and is a weak fantasy bet.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He was added to the injury report on Friday but was a full-go in practice. We’ll look for more info on his status, but Conklin was a weak fantasy play to begin with. He’s totaled just 10 targets over his last three games.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin ranked third on the team in targets (4), receptions (3) and receiving yards (42) in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. He also caught one of Aaron Rodgers' two TD passes.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (hip) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Steelers. He played through this issue last week but registered a season-low 66% route rate. With WR Davante Adams set to make his Jets debut tonight, Conklin figures to have a tough time drawing targets. He’s not a recommended Week 7 fantasy starter.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Steelers. He played through this issue last week, but his route rate sunk to a season-low 66%. He’s also now contending with the addition of WR Davante Adams. Conklin is not a recommended Week 7 fantasy starter.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (hip) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Bills. He was limited in practice all week but never seemed to be in danger of missing this one. Buffalo ranks a middling 14th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin (hip) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Bills. He was limited in practice all week. We've heard nothing to suggest that Conklin is in real danger of missing this one, but the late kickoff makes it a trickier situation. Fantasy owners hoping to start Conklin could add Jets backup TE Jeremy Ruckert as insurance. Bills TE Dawson Knox is also a potential replacement if Conklin ends up inactive.

Todd Downing will replace Nathaniel Hackett as the Jets' play-caller, interim HC Jeff Ulbrich announced on Thursday. While defensive-minded HC Robert Saleh was canned earlier this week, the offense has been the real problem in New York. The Jets rank 23rd in points, 27th in total yards, and 27th in yards per play. That's largely on Hackett, who has deployed a stale offense. We're just not sure it'll get much better with Downing. He's spent three seasons as an NFL OC, one with the Raiders and two with the Titans. Those offenses ranked 17th, 17th, and 30th in total yards. QB Aaron Rodgers is on board with the move, according to insider Connor Hughes. We'll get our first look at Downing's offense in Monday night's Jets vs. Bills game.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin is “poised for a big season,” per NFL insider Connor Hughes. Conklin tallied a career-best 621 yards in 2023.

Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic highlights Jets TE Tyler Conklin as a "notable standout" in the team's offseason program. "He made highlight reel catches all spring," Rosenblatt writes. "If Rodgers can stay healthy, Conklin is in line for a big season."

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is expected to be a full participant in OTAs later this month, HC Robert Saleh said. Rodgers is about eight months removed from his torn Achilles. "Once phase three hits, we're not anticipating any restrictions from what we can and can't do with him," Saleh said. It's been a smooth rehab for Rodgers by all accounts, and he should be ready to roll come Week 1. It's excellent news for WR Garrett Wilson, RB Breece Hall, and the rest of New York's skill-position players.

The forecast for today's Texans-Jets game calls for a near 100% chance of rain. Winds will be at 10-15 mph with potential gusts of 30+. Tough conditions for the passing and kicking games. This over/under has dropped from 38.5 to 33.0. The Texans are implied for only 18.0 points. Check out the updated projections for this game.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson tallied 8 receptions for 90 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles. His 12 targets accounted for 36.4% of QB Zach Wilson's total pass attempts. Wilson also consumed 42.1% of the team's receptions and 48.4% of the receiving yards. RB Breece Hall was the only other Jet with more than 24 receiving yards. TE Tyler Conklin checked in third with a 3-24 receiving line on 4 targets. No other Jet had more than 1 reception. That domination signals just how good Garrett Wilson is ... as well as the flimsiness of his situation. The Jets get a Week 7 bye, then favorable matchups with the Giants, Chargers, and Raiders.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said after Monday night's win over the Bills that the team fears QB Aaron Rodgers has a torn Achilles. He's scheduled for an MRI on Monday to confirm. "It's not good," Saleh added. A torn Achilles would end Rodgers' season -- and put the 39-year-old's football future in serious doubt. It'd also leave QB Zach Wilson as New York's starter. That'd obviously be a significant downgrade for all of the Jets' skill-position players.

Jets TEs Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah split first-team work in Saturday's preseason game. Conklin played five snaps and ran two routes vs. Uzomah's six snaps and three routes, according to Pro Football Focus. We'll see what the rotation looks like early in the regular season, but Conklin will not be a viable Week 1 fantasy play.

11:32am EST 1/8/23

Jets TE C.J. Uzomah (ankle) is inactive for today's game vs. the Dolphins. His absence is a boost to TE Tyler Conklin's Week 18 fantasy value.

Jets TE Tyler Conklin caught all 6 of his targets for 80 yards in Sunday's lopsided loss to the Seahawks. He tallied 35 more yards than any other Jet and doubled his nearest teammate in catches. TE C.J. Uzomah beat Conklin by 1 target but caught just 3 for 24 yards. WR Garrett Wilson led the team with 11 targets but managed only 3 receptions for 18 yards. The Jets -- now eliminated from the playoffs -- visit Miami for the regular-season finale. That has been a positive scoring matchup for TEs; neutral for WRs.

The Seahawks haven't played particularly well overall on defense this season, but they have given WRs difficulty in fantasy football. Seattle stands as the worst matchup for the position by adjusted fantasy points allowed. No WR has reached 10 PPR points against the Seahawks since Week 13. No WR has reached 75 yards receiving against them since Week 7, and just 3 have gotten there all season. Rookie CB Tariq Woolen has been the biggest factor, limiting players to a 56.4% catch rate and 74.6 passer rating on balls thrown into his coverage, according to Pro Football Focus. The matchup doesn't come close to knocking Jets lead WR Garrett Wilson out of starter range in our Week 17 fantasy football rankings. But it's well worth noting for DFS lineup-building. And we wouldn't go chasing any other Jets wideouts. The difficult matchup for WRs combined with the league-best scoring matchup for TEs could also turn Jets TE Tyler Conklin into a Week 17 sleeper.

Jets QB Mike White (ribs) has been medically cleared and will start this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks, insider Brian Costello reports. White's return comes after QB Zach Wilson was so bad in Thursday night's loss to the Jaguars that he was benched for QB Chris Streveler. The news is a boost for all of New York's skill-position guys, particularly WR Garrett Wilson.
