Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jets QB Joe Flacco is expected to start Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. QB Zach Wilson's knee still isn't back to 100%, and the Jets are evidently done with QB Mike White after his 4-INT outing vs. the Bills last week. Flacco joined the team just a few weeks ago. He made 4 starts for the Jets last year -- albeit under a different coaching staff -- averaging 212 yards and 1.5 TDs on 6.4 yards per attempt. Flacco isn't a fantasy option, but he's also probably not a downgrade from White or Wilson at this point.
Jets QB Mike White will start Sunday's game against the Bills, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Zach Wilson will use the week to get healthier," Rapoport adds. White was playing well again before injuring his forearm in last Thursday night's game vs. the Colts, completing 7 of 11 passes for 95 yards and a score. He's just a low-end QB2 vs. a tough Buffalo defense. But White has targeted RBs on about 40% of his passes, so this is good news for RB Michael Carter.
The Jets acquired QB Joe Flacco from the Eagles in exchange for a 2022 6th-round pick that can become a 5th-rounder based on how much Flacco plays for New York, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Flacco spent 2020 with the Jets, but that was under a different coaching staff. ESPN's Rich Cimini expects QB Mike White to start Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. QB Zach Wilson is slated to miss 2-4 weeks with his knee injury.
Jets QB Zach Wilson is expected to miss 2 weeks with a "minor" PCL sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's relatively good news on what looked like a more serious injury. Wilson, of course, has not been a fantasy factor this season. But backup QB Mike White is a downgrade for the offense.
Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter puts Wilson's timetable at 2-4 weeks. We'll monitor the rookie's rehab.
Jets QB Zach Wilson will "likely miss time" with his knee injury, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, "but the tests will determine how much." Rapoport adds that Wilson is believed to be dealing with a PCL injury. We should learn more after the rookie's MRI. Backup QB Mike White went 20-of-32 for 202 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs in relief of Wilson in New England.
Jets QB Zach Wilson left Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury. He walked to the locker room around the midway point of the 2nd quarter. We’ll share an update when we learn more.
Update: Wilson has a right knee injury, the team announced. He's been ruled out.
Jets QB Zach Wilson has made big strides from spring workouts to now, The Athletic's Connor Hughes writes. "He has a much firmer understanding of the playbook and is much more comfortable within this scheme," Hughes says. "That’s allowing his athleticism and passing ability to shine." Wilson has looked good this preseason, especially when completing 9 of 11 passes for 128 yards and 2 scores vs. the Packers last week. (And he did that without WR Elijah Moore.). Wilson certainly looks capable of emerging as a spot-start fantasy option as a rookie.
Jets QB Zach Wilson enjoyed a nice outing in Saturday's 2nd preseason contest at Green Bay. He completed 9 of 11 passes for 128 yards and a pair of TDs, finding TE Tyler Kroft for scores both early in the 2nd quarter and inside the final 2 minutes of the 1st half. Those were Kroft's only 2 targets of the game. WR Corey Davis claimed 6 targets among Wilson's other 10 attempts (including 1 negated by penalty). RB Tevin Coleman, WR Jamison Crowder, WR Jeff Smith and TE Trevon Wesco garnered 1 target apiece.
Jets QB Zach Wilson has signed his rookie contract and reported to camp on Thursday. He ended up missing just a couple of days, so there shouldn't be any fantasy impact here. Wilson be under center for the Jets' opener vs. the Panthers on September 12.
Jets QB Zach Wilson was absent for the 1st day of training camp on Tuesday as his agent and the team continue to work on his rookie contract. We'd be surprised if the standoff lasted much longer considering there's not much negotiation to be done with rookie deals nowadays, but we'll continue to monitor the situation. Wilson is coming off a strong start in OTAs and minicamp.
