Jets HC Robert Saleh said Thursday that WR Mike Williams (knee) will play Week 1 but also suggested that Williams won't play a full snapload. That jibes with the team's plans for Williams all along. He's now a little over 11 months removed from his ACL tear and recently returned to full-team work in practice.
What They're Saying
Saleh on Williams' Week 1 status: "We're gonna be very smart with how we use him, but he's gonna be plenty available to make his mark felt."
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Saleh said back in June that Williams was on a similar ramp-up plan to RB Breece Hall last year. Hall was limited in New York's first five games before being a full-go the rest of the way.
Williams won't be a viable fantasy starter in Week 1 -- and might not be for the rest of September. But has has a shot to work his way into the WR3 mix over the final three-quarters of the season.
Williams remains a value pick at his WR57 ADP.
