Jets RB Braelon Allen led the team with 55 rushing yards in Thursday night's win over the Patriots. He averaged 5.0 yards per carry on his 11 attempts. RB Breece Hall totaled 54 yards on his 16 carries (3.4 YPC). Allen flashed impressive acceleration and power throughout. He had a pair of 11-yard runs, and seven of his 11 runs went for 5+ yards. Allen also caught all three of his targets for 13 yards.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
For the second straight week, Allen was a significant part of the Jets' game plan. He started the team's second possession of the night and mixed in liberally throughout.
Allen wound up playing 32% of the Jets' offensive snaps -- right in line with his 35% snap rate in Week 2. And, after handling 33% of the team's RB carries in Week 2, Allen climbed to 37% in this one.
Hall remains the Jets' clear lead back. But Allen has looked awesome the past two weeks and has earned a role going forward.
It's worth noting that the Jets ran 70 plays and led throughout the win over New England. That helped them to 38 total RB opportunities. That's not a mark they'll reach most weeks. But even if we get around 30 opportunities per week, and Allen is getting one-third of them, we're talking about 10 opportunities per game. That's enough to make him a RB3 consideration, especially when bye weeks start to hit.
Should Breece Hall Owners Be Worried?
Hall owners probably weren't expecting to see Allen tally 18 carries and seven targets over the past two weeks. But Hall has 30 carries and 14 targets of his own during that stretch.
Hall clearly won't be getting Christian McCaffrey-level usage this season. But he remains a huge part of both the running and passing games -- and looks as dynamic as ever.
Hall remains an easy top-5 RB going forward.
