49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is back with the team, GM John Lynch said Friday. McCaffrey recently traveled to Germany for treatment on his Achilles tendinitis. "Now, we can start the process of building back up," GM John Lynch said.
McCaffrey will miss at least another two games on IR, and all indications are that he'll be out longer than that.
Lynch's comment of "building back up" seems positive, at least. We're tentatively projecting McCaffrey to return after the 49ers' Week 9 bye but will continue to keep a close eye on his progress.
Fantasy teams off to a 3-0 start could consider buying low on McCaffrey right now. He could still be a difference-maker down the stretch.
