Ameer Abdullah Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Raiders placed RB Sincere McCormick on IR with the ankle injury he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Falcons. That ends his 2024 season. McCormick flashed with 4.7 yards per carry over the last four weeks, which should earn him an opportunity to win a role in this backfield this offseason. He's a low-end dynasty stash. McCormick's absence leaves Vegas' backfield to Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah the rest of the way. Mattison is a volume-based RB3 option.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers. With RB Zamir White (quad) also out, Vegas is again down to RBs Sincere McCormick and Ameer Abdullah. We’re projecting McCormick to lead in carries but Abdullah to continue handling most passing-down work. That leaves both guys in RB3 territory in the Week 14 Rankings.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Buccaneers today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That'll again leave the backfield to Sincere McCormick and Ameer Abdullah. Abdullah easily led the way in snaps and routes last week, but McCormick out-carried him 12 to 10. We're expecting similar deployment today, with McCormick potentially expanding his lead in carries. He's worth a look as a RB3 or Flex play.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice, while RB Zamir White (quad) remained out. We're tentatively expecting Mattison to return for this weekend's game vs. the Bucs, although it's entirely unclear how work will be divvied between Mattison, Sincere McCormick, and Ameer Abdullah. Try to avoid the backfield in Week 14 fantasy lineups.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) is inactive for today's game vs. the Chiefs. With RB Zamir White (quad) also out, Vegas is again down to RBs Ameer Abdullah, Sincere McCormick, and Dylan Laube. Abdullah dominated playing time last week with an 89% snap rate, tallying eight carries and six targets. But Raiders HC Antonio Pierce has talked up a bigger role for McCormick this week. This is ultimately a backfield to try to avoid against Kansas City's top-ranked RB defense.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Chiefs after a limited week of practice. RB Zamir White (quad) has been ruled out. Mattison would be the favorite for carries if he ends up active, but he wouldn't be a great fantasy play against Kansas City's top-ranked RB defense. We'll get Vegas' inactives around 2 pm ET tomorrow.

Raiders RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's injury report. It was just a walkthrough for Vegas but means that Mattison has a chance to return for Friday's game vs. the Chiefs. RB Zamir White (quad) remained out on Tuesday. We'll keep you posted on this backfield over the next few days, but it's a situation to try to avoid with the Raiders 12-point underdogs against Kansas City's top-ranked RB defense.

Raiders RBs Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quad) are inactive for today’s game vs. the Broncos. That leaves the backfield to Ameer Abdullah, Dylan Laube, and Sincere McCormick. HC Antonio Pierce said Friday that Abdullah will start, but it’s entirely unclear how touches will be divvied beyond that. Abdullah sits highest among Raiders RBs in the Week 12 Rankings, but you should try to avoid the situation in fantasy lineups.

Raiders RBs Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quad) are listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Broncos. Vegas will roll with Ameer Abdullah, Dylan Laube, and likely practice-squad callup Sincere McCormick in the backfield. We’re projecting Abdullah to lead in touches, but it’s a guess more than anything else. With the Raiders six-point underdogs with a 17.5-point implied total against a tough Denver defense, you should try to stay away from this backfield.

Raiders RBs Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quad) remained sidelined on Thursday. It's looking like we'll see a Vegas backfield of Ameer Abdullah, Dylan Laube, and likely practice squad call-up Sincere McCormick against the Broncos on Sunday. We'll look for reports on how work will be divvied, but it's a situation to try to avoid in fantasy lineups.

Raiders RBs Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quad) did not practice on Wednesday. Both guys were knocked out of the Week 11 loss to the Dolphins and are seemingly in danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. Their absences would leave the backfield to Ameer Abdullah and Dylan Laube. The former hasn't tallied double-digit carries in a game since 2017; the latter is a sixth-round rookie who fumbled on his only touch of the season. We'll keep you updated on Mattison and White, but this is a backfield to avoid in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

Raiders RBs Zamir White (quad) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) are both questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. That leaves Ameer Abdullah as Vegas' only healthy RB. (Rookie Dylan Laube is a healthy scratch.) We'll update the situation when we know more.

Raiders RB Zamir White (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so he seems on track to play. It’s unclear how backfield touches will be divvied between White, Alexander Mattison, and Ameer Abdullah, so stay away from this situation in Week 7 fantasy lineups if you can help it.

Raiders RB Zamir White (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Falcons. That’ll again leave Alexander Mattison as Vegas’ lead back, with Ameer Abdullah the No. 2.

The Raiders have ruled RB Zamir White (groin) out for this weekend's game vs. the Broncos. It looks like he injured his groin on Wednesday, going from a limited practice then to no practice on Thursday or Friday. His absence will leave Alexander Mattison as Vegas' clear lead back. He figures to lose some passing-down snaps to RB Ameer Abdullah (and potentially Dylan Laube) and is playing on a team with the week's lowest implied total at 16.5 points. So the upside here isn't exciting. But Mattison should compile enough volume to post a decent fantasy score this week.

The Raiders selected New Hampshire RB Dylan Laube in Round 6 of the NFL Draft. Including a 2018 redshirt, Laube spent six seasons at New Hampshire. He'll turn 25 in December, making him one of the oldest prospects in the class. Not ideal – but the production speaks for itself. Playing against FCS competition, Laube led the nation in all-purpose yards per game in 2022 (194.3). Included in there: Three games north of 200 rushing/receiving yards, including a video game-like 12-295-2 receiving line against Central Michigan. Overall, he excelled as a receiver with 49 catches – good for second on the team. Per The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, Laube passed on transfer opportunities (and NIL deals) ahead of last fall. Still, his workload dropped (16 carries per game vs. 20.4), and he declined in yards per carry, yards after contact per attempt, and forced missed-tackle rate. Known as a high character kid, Laube ultimately wins with quick feet and a versatile skill set. He’s racked up a nation-leading 117 catches over the past two seasons. Going in the late sixth round is a bad sign, but Laube at least landed in a Raiders backfield with only Zamir White, Alexander Mattison, and Ameer Abdullah. We’ll see if he can push Abdullah for a passing-down role. Laube isn’t worth a pick in early best-ball drafts but is a viable flier in deeper dynasty leagues.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (quad, illness) is inactive for today's game vs. the Chiefs. That leaves the backfield to Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah. See where those guys sit in the Week 16 RB Rankings.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (quad, illness) won't play vs. the Chiefs today, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. That will again leave the backfield to Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah. White racked up 85 total yards and a score on a 70% snap rate last week -- but that came with positive game script in an easy win over the Chargers. The Raiders are 10.5-point underdogs today, so White is at risk of losing more snaps to Abdullah. See our updated projections for the Raiders backfield.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (quad) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Chargers. The team didn’t rule him out until this afternoon, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, while The Athletic’s Vic Tafur tweeted that Jacobs might have played had this game been Sunday. So it sounds like there’s a good chance that he’s back for Week 16. Jacobs’ absence tonight leaves Vegas’ backfield to Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah. White figures to handle the majority of the early-down work, with Abdullah playing on passing downs. See where both guys sit in the Week 15 RB Rankings.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs' status for Thursday night's game vs. the Chargers is "firmly in doubt," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jacobs did not practice at all this week with his quad injury. We have him projected to miss this game, leaving the backfield to Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah. We'll get Las Vegas' inactives a little before 7 pm ET tonight.
