Chase Claypool Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) missed practice again on Thursday. He's unlikely to play vs. the Bengals this weekend. That'd elevate WR James Washington into the starting lineup and mean more targets for WRs Chase Claypool and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Steelers WR Chase Claypool played 18 snaps in Friday night's preseason finale, catching 1 of 2 targets for 18 yards and carrying once for 11 yards. The big takeaway is that Claypool played -- a little over a week after injuring his ankle in practice. That's obviously not an issue going forward. Claypool is a fine target at his 6th-round ADP.

Steelers WR Chase Claypool suffered an apparent lower body injury in Tuesday’s practice. It sounds like he went down hard after trying to catch a downfield pass. Per beat writer Ray Fittipaldo, Claypool went straight to the locker room to get checked out. We’ll let you know when an update is available.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports it's a "minor" ankle sprain and that Claypool "should be fine." That matches with reports from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that the WR avoided significant injury. We're not adjusting Claypool downward at all.
