Eddie Jackson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Ravens S Kyle Hamilton left Thursday night's game in the first half with a right ankle injury and did not return. The team initially deemed him questionable but ruled Hamilton out before the end of the game. He was wearing a boot on the sideline in the second half, but HC John Harbaugh downplayed the severity after the game.

The Bears have agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with S Kevin Byard, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That positions Byard to take over the starting spot vacated when the team released S Eddie Jackson in February. Byard, of course, spent the second half of 2023 in Philly after a trade from Tennessee. But the Eagles released him this offseason. Byard still finished among the top 15 fantasy DBs, his seventh straight year among the top 24. Byard should remain a solid bet to remain in that range heading into his age-31 campaign.

The Bears have ruled S Jaquan Brisker out for Sunday's game against the Saints with a concussion. We highlighted earlier in the week what HC Matt Eberflus called Brisker's "unique situation." Brisker initially got out of the league concussion protocol but then went back in after a re-test following an illness. This will be his second straight missed game, and the three missed practices this week say we can't count on a Week 10 return. We'll be watching Brisker's status throughout the coming week. Elijah Hicks looks like the next man up. He'll join S Eddie Jackson, who put in full practices all week and carries no injury designation into Sunday. Jackson missed the past two games with a foot injury.

Bears S Jaquan Brisker (illness) and S Eddie Jackson (foot) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Brisker missed practice all week. Jackson closed out the week with a full Friday practice. He seems to be on track to play. We'll check both Sunday.

Bears S Jaquan Brisker popped up on Friday's injury report with a groin issue that has him questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. We have gone ahead and moved him down the Week 7 DB rankings for the risk factor. We'll see about his availability for the game. S Eddie Jackson (foot) has been ruled out.

Bears S Eddie Jackson (foot) is active for today's game against the Vikings. It'll be his first action since leaving Week 2 with the injury. Jackson remained limited in practice this week and would be a risky option -- with a low floor -- for your IDP lineup.

Bears S Jaquan Brisker is active for tonight's game against the Commanders. He popped up on the Wednesday injury report with a hamstring issue and entered tonight questionable. But Brisker said he would be ready to play, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. There's obviously added risk to Brisker with the hammy, but he already sat low in our Week 5 DB rankings. Here's hoping you don't need to use him. An already iffy Bears secondary is also missing CB Jaylon Johnson and S Eddie Jackson, who were each ruled out.

Bears S Eddie Jackson suffered a "significant" Lisfranc injury to his left foot in Sunday's loss to the Jets, NFL Network reports. Jackson is reportedly still getting medical opinions but is expected to be out "indefinitely." It's OK to go ahead and drop Jackson in redraft IDP leagues.

The Bears quickly ruled S Eddie Jackson out for the rest of today's game against the Jets after he left in the 1st half with a left foot injury. That obviously doesn't bode well for Jackson's outlook beyond this week. We'll watch for the official diagnosis and return timeline.

Bears S Eddie Jackson left in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Jets after hurting his left leg. He went down on a long TD play to WR Garrett Wilson. Jackson then left the field gingerly and rode a cart to the locker room. We'll watch for further details.

Bears S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) and S Tashaun Gipson are active for today's game against the Lions. It'll be Jackson's 1st action since Week 8, a game he left after just 2 snaps with his injury. Gipson turned up as questionable but practiced in full all week. Jackson's return pushes S DeAndre Houston-Carson back to a reserve role.

The Bears have ruled DL Akiem Hicks (ankle) out for Thursday's game against the Lions. Both starting safeties are questionable. Eddie Jackson (hamstring) remained limited in practice this week after missing the past 2 games. Tashaun Gipson (chest) seems like a surprising inclusion, after the team listed him as a full participant in each practice. DeAndre Houston-Carson and Deon Bush stand by as potential replacements.

Bears S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) is inactive for today's game against the Ravens. He joins DL Akiem Hicks and EDGE Khalil Mack (IR) in missing the game.

Bears EDGE Khalil Mack needs foot surgery and will miss the rest of the season. He and the team had hoped that rest would allow him to recover enough to return, but that proved to not be the case. We'll see about Mack's recovery heading into 2022. Trevis Gipson looks like he'll continue as the primary guy opposite Robert Quinn. He has 0 QB hits in elevated playing time over the past 3 contests. Chicago also placed ILB Danny Trevathan (knee) back on IR, which he spent a stint on earlier this year. That re-opens the spot for Alec Ogletree next to Roquan Smith. For this week, the Bears have ruled DL Akiem Hicks (ankle) out for this week's game against the Chargers. S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) is questionable. He put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday's workout.

Bears LB Alec Ogletree (ankle) is inactive for tonight's game against the Steelers. Danny Trevathan should start in his place, in case you're left needing a replacement. S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) is also inactive, as expected. He entered the night doubtful.

The Bears have ruled EDGE Khalil Mack (foot) out for Monday night's game against the Steelers, the 2nd straight game he will have missed. LB Alec Ogletree (knee) is questionable and S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) is doubtful. Ogletree missed practice all week and doesn't look like a good bet. If he sits, Danny Trevathan would get the start in his place. Jackson's expected absence makes DeAndre Houston-Carson a good IDP option.

Bears S Eddie Jackson left Sunday's game against the 49ers with a hamstring injury. DeAndre Houston-Carson replaced him and led the defense in tackles. He'll be worth a look at the DB2 level for Week 9 if Jackson isn't ready for the Monday night trip to Pittsburgh.

Bears OLB Khalil Mack (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers. Mack missed practice all week, a step down from last week, when he put in a limited Friday workout. Mack played through that questionable tag, though, and has done so multiple times this season. Also questionable for the Bears defense are: DL Akiem Hicks (groin), CB Duke Shelley (ankle) and S Eddie Jackson (knee). We'll update the statuses for all 4 on Sunday morning.
