Jakobi Meyers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. At less than 100% and catching passes from QB Brian Hoyer, Meyers shouldn’t be in your Week 4 fantasy plans.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He got in just a limited practice on Friday last week before missing the Ravens game. We'll get another update on Meyers tomorrow.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Ravens. That leaves Nelson Agholor, DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne as New England’s top 3 WRs.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) is not expected to play vs. the Ravens today. He got in just a limited practice on Friday this week, so this isn't a big surprise. Meyers' absence leaves behind 29% of New England's targets over the first 2 games. WR Nelson Agholor becomes a more interesting Week 3 fantasy play with Meyers out. DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne figure to operate as the #2 and #3 WRs.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Meyers played and produced a 9-95 line with this injury last week, but he seems to be in worse shape now. We'll get New England's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. His availability for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens is now officially in question. Check back tomorrow for another update on Meyer's Week 3 status.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. He played through this issue last week, although that was after 3 limited practices. We'll see if Meyers is able to get on the field Thursday, ahead of this weekend's game vs. Baltimore.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. He reportedly had a brace on his left knee warming up, so this injury might actually be a factor today. Meyers, of course, wasn’t an exciting fantasy option to begin with.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) is expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms. Meyers was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, but we haven't sensed any concern about the knee. Meyers seems safe to use as you normally would.

Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. We haven't heard any concern over Meyers' status, but you'll need to check back Sunday morning to make sure he's active if you're planning on using him in fantasy.

Patriots QB Mac Jones and the 1st-team offense had another rough outing in Friday night's preseason finale. Jones completed 9 of 13 passes for 71 yards (5.5 YPA), 0 TDs and 1 INT across 4 series. The possessions went: 3-and-out, INT, 3-and-out, FG. The offense reportedly struggled throughout training camp, too, looking uncomfortable in the Josh McDaniels-less system. Pass protection has also been a problem. It'll be tough to trust any piece of this Patriots passing game in early-season fantasy lineups.

The Athletic's Chad Graff lists WR Kendrick Bourne as a "faller" and WR Nelson Agholor as a "riser." Graff believes Bourne is now behind Jakobi Meyers, DeVante Parker and Agholor on the depth chart. Agholor "has been the Patriots’ best wide receiver in most practices and has shown an improved connection with Jones," Graff writes. We're not overly interested in any of these guys as draft targets, but we'll continue to monitor the pecking order.

Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton suffered a collarbone injury in Friday night's preseason game, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport doesn't say Thornton's collarbone is broken, but it sure sounds like that's the case. Thornton's season is "now put on hold, though based on his timetable, the injury to the speedster is not season ending." We'll look for a more concrete timeline, but Thornton isn't worth a roster spot in redraft leagues. His absence leaves Jakobi Meyers, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor as New England's clear top 4 WRs.

Update: NFL Network's Mike Giardi reports that Thornton is expected to miss "around 8 weeks."

Patriots WR Nelson Agholor (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bills. WR Kendrick Bourne remains on the COVID list and is unlikely to play this weekend. WR N'Keal Harry (hip) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. He figures to start if he's able to play on Sunday. But WR Jakobi Meyers and TE Hunter Henry will likely be the focal points of New England's passing game.

The Patriots have surprisingly released QB Cam Newton, according to multiple reports. We wouldn't have been shocked to see the team name Mac Jones its Week 1 starter, but we certainly did not foresee New England unloading Newton completely. Jones graded out among the top passers across the league in preseason, according to Pro Football Focus. His ascension should be good news for the fantasy outlooks for basically everyone in the New England offense. It signals a more traditional scheme as opposed to last year's run-heavy approach. It returns lead status near the goal line to Damien Harris and the RBs. And it should mean more -- and more accurate -- targets for all pass-catchers. We're not overly interested in Jones as a fantasy football prospect, but Jakobi Meyers, Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, Nelson Agholor and James White all gain some late-round appeal. RB Damien Harris also gets a bump. Check out the updated projections for the Patriots.
