Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Titans have agreed to a one-year contract with S Jamal Adams, according to multiple sources. Adams spent the past four seasons with the Seahawks, who released him earlier this offseason.
The Titans have placed S Amani Hooker on IR, which will end his season. Hooker played every snap of the Week 15 OT loss to the Texans but then missed practice all week with a knee injury. The team had already ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. With S K'Von Wallace also ruled out, the starting safeties should be Elijah Molden and Terrell Edmunds. Molden has five starts this season and played 100% of the snaps in four of those. He's an OK deep start if you need him, though Seattle hasn't been a positive scoring matchup for DBs. Make sure you don't overrate Molden's usefulness by looking at his fantasy total from last week, when he returned an INT for a TD against Houston. Molden can be a sneaky option for CB-required leagues, though, if he carries CB eligibility there. Edmunds has played sparingly since arriving in Tennessee in the Kevin Byard trade, reaching 50% snap share just once. We wouldn't bet a Week 16 lineup slot on him unless you play in an abnormally deep league. Check our updated Week 16 DB rankings to see where both players sit.
Titans DT Jeffery Simmons (knee) will miss his third straight game Sunday against the Seahawks. That's a big blow to a run defense that struggled without him the past two weeks. Tennessee allowed 148 rushing yards to Houston and 158 to Miami the game before. The matchup certainly improves for Seattle RB Kenneth Walker III. Tennessee has also ruled out S Amani Hooker (knee), S K'Von Wallace (quad), LB Jack Gibbens (back), and CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (hip). It could be a nice week for the entire Seattle offense.
Titans DE Denico Autry (knee, illness) and LB Jack Gibbens (back) are active for today's game against the Texans. Neither is a high-level IDP, but both are available if needed. Autry's presence is particularly important for a D-line missing DT Jeffery Simmons. That absence makes it tough to like Tennessee's defense at any level for fantasy.
The Titans have ruled DT Jeffery Simmons (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Texans. It'll be the second straight missed game for Simmons, who has yet to practice since sustaining the injury. That casts doubt on his Week 16 status as well. Tennessee allowed 158 rushing yards to the Dolphins with Simmons out of the lineup last week. That plus Houston likely being without QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) add upside to Texans RBs Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary. The Titans would be in even worse shape without DE Denico Autry. He's questionable with a knee injury after missing practice Wednesday and Friday (with a limited Thursday in between). We'll check Autry's status Sunday.
The Titans have ruled DT Jeffery Simmons (knee) out for Monday night's game against the Dolphins. That's bad for both the Tennessee run defense and pass rush. Of course, all the potentially affected Miami offensive pieces have already been sitting inside fantasy-starter territory for most lineups. Check your Team Intel page for your best options.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the Titans are trading S Kevin Byard to the Eagles for fifth- and sixth-round picks in 2024 and S Terrell Edmunds. Byard clearly upgrades the secondary for a defense that ranks just 17th in DVOA against the pass so far this season. Byard is working on a career-low Pro Football Focus coverage grade at the moment but finished the past two seasons ranked eighth and first among safeties in that category. Moving to Philly shouldn't alter Byard's IDP outlook. We'll see whether Edmunds steps right into Byard's vacated role in Tennessee. The Titans certainly look thin enough at safety for that to be the case. Just be careful about counting on it right away for fantasy purposes.
Titans DT Jeffery Simmons is dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of Wednesday's practice and limited him Thursday and Friday. But he carries no designation on the team's final injury report and thus looks ready to go for Sunday's game against the Ravens in London.
The Titans have ruled CB Kristian Fulton (hamstring) and S Amani Hooker (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. That leaves an already weak pass defense without two of its top 4 DBs. Should be a good week for the Chargers' passing game to get going.
In another clear sign that the Titans are surrendering Thursday night's game to the Cowboys, the team announced Wednesday that basically the entire defense is out or doubtful. DT Jeffery Simmons, S Amani Hooker, EDGE Bud Dupree, LB Dylan Cole and LB Zach Cunningham are out. DL Denico Autry and CB Kristian Fulton are doubtful, which is really just a wishy-washy way of saying "out." LB Monty Rice, CB Roger McCready and S Andrew Adams like just about the only playable pieces for IDP leagues.
Titans LB Zach Cunningham came off IR to start Saturday's game against the Texans, but he left the game before halftime with more elbow trouble. Don't bet on the veteran being a factor for IDP lineups in Week 17. Monty Rice led Tennessee LBs with 91% playing time against Houston. Undrafted rookie Jack Gibbons also got 72% playing time, in a beat-up corps that previously lost LBs David Long and Dylan Cole.
Titans S Amani Hooker (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Texans.
The Titans have activated LB Zach Cunningham (elbow) from IR. He has been practicing since Dec. 14 and appears to be ready to jump back in Saturday vs. the Texans. We've added him to the Week 16 IDP rankings, though he doesn't make for an exciting option. Cunningham has just 3 games all season he didn't leave early. He tallied 7, 5 and 4 total tackles in those contests -- including just 1 solo and 3 assists in the 1st meeting with Houston.
The Titans have ruled S Amani Hooker (knee), DL Denico Autry (knee) and CB Kristian Fulton (groin) out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. It'll be the 4th straight missed game for Autry and 2nd for Fulton. Hooker played the past 3 games, leaving early from last week's loss to the Jaguars. S Andrew Adams should get his 3rd straight game of starter-level duty in Hooker's absence. Adams has actually played 78% of snaps or more in 7 of the past 8 games, some with Hooker in the lineup and others without. Check the Week 15 IDP rankings for Adams' adjusted position.
The Titans placed LB David Long Jr. (hamstring) on IR ahead of Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. That knocks him out at least through Week 17. LB Monty Rice started in Long's plays against Jacksonville and logged 12 tackles. Expect to see him in Tuesday's IDP waiver-wire article.
Titans DT Jeffery Simmons (ankle) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. Use him as planned in IDP lineups.
Titans DT Jeffery Simmons (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Simmons has been playing through the ankle issue for weeks and managed 2 limited practices this week, so we'd bet on him playing. We'll certainly check his status Sunday morning. Tennessee has ruled DL Denico Autry (knee), LB David Long (hamstring) and CB Kristian Fulton (groin) out for the game.
Titans LB David Long left in the 1st half of Sunday's loss to the Eagles with a hamstring injury and was ruled out not long after. That doesn't bode well for his Week 14 status, but we'll watch for an update from the team. LB Joe Schobert replaced Long and would seem to be in line to start if Long can't go. LB Dylan Cole also started his 2nd straight game in place of Zach Cunningham (IR).
Titans DT Jeffery Simmons (ankle) and CB Kristian Fulton (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Bengals. The Tennessee defense will also get S Amani Hooker back for the 1st time in 4 games. And EDGE Bud Dupree returns after missing 2 games. It's a potentially challenging matchup for the Bengals offense.
