Bottom Line
It’s hard to find a wart in Lamb’s profile.
He’s durable, with one missed game in his pro career (concussion, 2021). He’s in the prime of his career, fresh off the overall WR1 finish. And his situation remains ripe for both efficiency and high-end volume.
The 25-year-old belongs as a top-three fantasy pick in non-superflex setups.
What We Learned Last Year
- Lamb confirmed his elite status as a fantasy WR.
- Appearing in 17 games for the second straight season, the 25-year-old notched career highs across the board (135-1,749-12).
- He finished as the WR1 in both total PPR points and PPR points per game.
- Lamb finished as a top-12 PPR WR only twice entering a Week 7 bye. After the bye, Lamb finished as a top-4 WR six times.
- He saw 7 targets per game before the bye; 12.4 targets per game after.
- Overall, he ranked fifth league-wide in targets, fourth in targets per route run, and first in red zone targets.
- Lamb benefited from a healthy Dak Prescott.
- Dak ranked fourth in pass attempts; third in passing yards.
- Dallas finished fourth in pass rate over expected.
- The Cowboys offense also supplied the second most plays per game (67.3).
What to Expect in 2024
- Lamb enters the fall at 25 – smack-dab in his prime.
- He’s currently slated to play out his rookie contract, but a contract extension is possible this summer.
- Regardless, he’s set up for another huge target count after garnering 181 in ‘23.
- Dallas did little to improve its WR corps this offseason.
- Michael Gallup departed in free agency. The Cowboys used a Round 6 pick on Ryan Flournoy.
- Brandin Cooks returns to handle the WR2 role. He saw only 5 targets per game last year and turns 31 in September.
- The return of this offensive nucleus – QB Dak Prescott, HC Mike McCarthy, and OC Brian Schottenheimer – supplies continuity.
