The Texans and WR Nico Collins agreed to a three-year, $72.5 million extension with $52 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. The deal keeps Collins in Houston through the 2027 season. His $24.2 million average annual salary ranks seventh among WRs, in between DeVonta Smith and D.K. Metcalf.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Collins is coming off a breakout 2023 season, tallying 80 catches, 1,297 yards, and eight TDs across 15 games. He ranked eighth among WRs in PPR points per game.
Collins was remarkably efficient, averaging 11.9 yards per target and 3.10 yards per route. Both marks ranked second among 80 qualifying WRs. Collins became just the fifth WR over the last 10 seasons to top 3.0 yards per route, joining Julio Jones, Cooper Kupp, Tyreek Hill, and Brandon Aiyuk.
Not that we needed it, but this extension is confirmation that Collins will remain a huge part of Houston's offense going forward -- despite the addition of WR Stefon Diggs.
Collins checks in 16th among WRs in the 2024 fantasy football rankings.
Dynasty Impact
Collins' extension locks him in with QB C.J. Stroud for at least the next four seasons. Stroud, of course, is coming off one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history. This stabilizes Collins' dynasty value. He sits 17th among WRs in the dynasty rankings.
Other Winners & Losers
QB C.J. Stroud's dynasty value continues to climb. He now has Collins signed through 2027 and WR Tank Dell through 2026. Stefon Diggs is signed for just this season.
