Texans RB Joe Mixon has not been participating in OTAs and was in a walking boot recently, according to insider Aaron Wilson. It's a "minor injury" that "isn't regarded as long term," Wilson adds.
We prefer our RBs not in walking boots. But players often don boots for relatively minor injuries nowadays. And we're still more than three months away from the start of the season.
We're not worrying about Mixon — or moving him in the RB Rankings — right now. But we'll keep a close eye on him when training camp gets going in late July.
Mixon's lengthy injury history includes four ankle sprains and a 2020 right foot injury that cost him the final 10 games of the season. It's unclear if this current issue is related to any of those.
