Seahawks to Miss Julian Love, Two Other DB Starters

The Seahawks have ruled S Julian Love, CB Devon Witherspoon, and CB Riq Woolen doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. That almost certainly means the team will go without all three. All three have been full-timers when healthy.

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

It'll be the third missed game for Love, thanks to a nagging hamstring issue. He sat out Week 3, returned to play every snap against the Cardinals in Week 4, but then missed Week 5.

Witherspoon made it through the opener, missed the next two games with a knee injury, also played every snap of Week 4, and now is about to miss his second straight game with the knee issue.

Woolen has also remained a near full-timer, starting every game and exceeding 90% playing time the first four weeks before leaving Week 5 early with a concussion. He's in the midst of easily his worst pro season, though:

        • 72.2% completion rate allowed (per PFF)
        • 123.1 passer rating allowed
        • 41.1 PFF coverage grade (98th among 104 CBs with 100+ snaps)
        • 1 pass defensed through five weeks

So Seattle probably won't miss Woolen as much as the other two guys, and he might even find his role threatened upon return.

Overall, the absences upgrade the matchup for Jacksonville, whose pass offense has improved over the past two games.

Love and Witherspoon are worth keeping stashed if your roster/league is deep enough for that to make sense.

        Other Winners & Losers

S Ty Okada should get his second straight start. He tallied 7 tackles (4 solo) and 2 passes defensed last week, while playing every snap and splitting time between the "box" and aligning deep.

Okada also played every snap back in Week 3, registering 9 tackles (7 solo) and a half-sack. He has taken a big jump up our Week 6 DB rankings.

CB Nehemiah Pritchett looks like the Woolen replacement. He's a second-year, fifth-round pick who has just two games to date with more than 35% playing time and one career start. So there's not much to go on here for IDP purposes.

Second-round rookie S Nick Emmanwori could develop into a fantasy factor now that he's back from injury and starting. But he played just 64% of the snaps in his Week 5 return from a high ankle sprain suffered early in Week 1.

So we'll have to see that role grow further before trusting him in IDP lineups.
