Dak Prescott Pulled from Season Finale

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott didn’t play all of Week 18’s loss to the Giants. Dallas exited the postseason picture, influencing the decision to sit Prescott after one half. George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb each left early, too. Both guys finished with a 45% snap share.

        What They're Saying

Here's HC Brian Schottenheimer after the loss (via ESPN):

"Disappointed, yeah, of course. Absolutely," Schottenheimer said, looking back on the 2025 season. "Again, the question is why? We need to look at and figure out why. Did not think that we would be 7-9-1 and I didn't think we wouldn't be in the playoffs. I expected to be in the playoffs and competing for a Super Bowl.

"We did not do that. That starts with me. I understand that. But I can promise you this -- we're going to get to the bottom of it. We're going to work our asses off to figure it out and we're going to adjust and make changes that we need to do to help us get there."

        Fantasy Football Impact

Prescott completed 7 of 11 passes for 70 scoreless yards before departing. Backup QB Joe Milton entered and flashed with 73 yards on 7 of 13 passing, plus 4 carries for 43 yards. He added an INT, though, and put a few errant throws on tape.

Prescott's 2025 season ends with 4,552 yards, 30 TDs, and 10 INTs. After making only eight appearances in 2024, Dak rebounded to finish as the QB7 in fantasy points per game (22.2). He finished as a top-12 QB in ten weeks.

        Dynasty Impact

Dak turns 33 at the end of July. Our historical aging curves don't show a significant dropoff for a QB of his age, so there's no reason to knock the Cowboy for that aspect of his immediate outlook.

Instead, we're keeping a close eye on the free agent status of George Pickens. The former Steeler elevated this passing game with a career-best line (93-1,429-9). He appeared in all 17 games.

Ultimately, we don't expect Pickens to leave Dallas. But we'll see if he's back under the franchise tag -- or a long-term deal.

As for Dak, he currently slots in tier 3 of our dynasty QB rankings.
