Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Ravens CB Marcus Peters (quad) is active for today's game against the Browns.
Ravens S Marcus Williams suffered a dislocated wrist in the 1st half of Sunday night's win over the Bengals. HC John Harbaugh told reporters after the game that Williams will miss a "significant" amount of time. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Williams is "likely" headed for IR. We'll see about the official return timeline following more testing, but Williams will likely be droppable in redraft IDP leagues. Geno Stone stepped into the lineup after Williams left. Rookie DB Kyle Hamilton, meanwhile, saw no increase in playing time. The 1st-rounder has played fewer than 20 snaps in each of the past 3 games.
The Ravens have signed EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul to a 1-year deal worth up to $5 million, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Baltimore has just 7 sacks through 3 games, despite facing a league-high 141 pass attempts. The only Raven with 2+ sacks so far is EDGE Justin Houston, who left Sunday's win over the Patriots with a groin injury. We'd bet on JPP quickly working into the rotation, though we'll need to see his playing time before considering him for IDP lineups.
Ravens CBs Marlon Humphrey (groin) and Marcus Peters (knee) are active for today's game against the Patriots. Each played through his issue last week, but for less than his usual playing time.
Ravens CBs Marlon Humphrey (groin) and Marcus Peters (knee) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Each guy played through a questionable tag in Week 2, but each also failed to play his usual snap allotment. This time around, though, Humphrey and Peters each finished the week with a full practice. That bodes well for their Sunday status.
Ravens CBs Marlon Humphrey (groin) and Marcus Peters (knee) are active for today's game against the Dolphins.
Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey (groin) and CB Marcus Peters (knee) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Peters put in a full Thursday practice between 2 limited workouts. He missed Week 1 with the same issue. Humphrey popped up limited on Thursday's injury report and then missed Friday's workout. We'll check the status on both corners Sunday morning. Missing both guys would obviously put the defense in a rough spot against Miami WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
Ravens CB Marcus Peters is inactive for today's game with the Jets. HC John Harbaugh had reportedly called it a rest day when Peters sat out Friday's practice, but this points to his knee issue being more significant.
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports that rookie S Kyle Hamilton has had a "rough" training camp. That included inconsistent performance in the team's preseason opener. The 1st-round pick is running with the 2nd-team defense. Zrebiec expects the team to "find ways" to get him onto the field in games, but that doesn't sound like a role that will make him startle in IDP leagues. We wouldn't bother with Hamilton in most redraft formats right now.
The Ravens on Tuesday announced a contract agreement with CB Kyle Fuller. The 30-year-old starting 10 games with the Broncos last season but saw his playing time dwindle late in the year. He spent nearly all of the previous 6 seasons starting for the Bears. Fuller should compete for the 3rd corner spot in Baltimore this summer, which can be a fantasy-relevant role for deeper IDP leagues.
The Ravens selected EDGE David Ojabo in Round 2 of the NFL Draft. Ojabo brings top-shelf athleticism for the position and posted 11 sacks in his final college season. Ojabo likely would have gone in Round 1 if he hadn't torn an Achilles' tendon at Michigan's pro day. That figures to turn him into a value pick in dynasty rookie drafts with IDPs.
The Ravens picked S Kyle Hamilton with the 14th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Lauded for his versatility, Hamilton sported some cross-category production in college. That included 8 INTs and 16 passes defense through his 3 seasons at Notre Dame. We'll see exactly how he fits into a Baltimore defense that returns S Chuck Clark and added S Marcus Williams in free agency. That might mean it takes a year before Hamilton finds a starting-level role. But there's intriguing upside.
The Ravens have agreed to a 5-year, $70 million deal with S Marcus Williams, according to multiple reports. Williams will get $37 million guaranteed. Williams takes over the FS spot in Baltimore and leaves a significant hole in New Orleans' secondary. He's not a strong IDP option.
Ravens DL Calais Campbell (thigh), EDGE Odafe Oweh (illness) and Brandon Stephens (illness) are active for today's game against the Bengals.
Ravens CB Anthony Averett (knee) and S Brandon Stephens (shoulder) are active for today's game against the Browns.
Ravens CB Anthony Averett (knee) and S Brandon Stephens (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. Both players finished the week with a full Friday practice and seem likely to play. We'll check their statuses Sunday.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Ravens fear a torn pectoral muscle for CB Marlon Humphrey. Once confirmed, the injury would end his season and leave the Baltimore secondary without its top cover man.
