Davante Adams Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Despite locking up the NFC's #1 seed with their win on Sunday night over Minnesota, Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Monday that he plans to play his staters vs. the Lions this weekend. "Right now the mindset is we're going to play our guys, and we're going to approach it like any other game," LaFleur said. Color us skeptical -- especially when it comes to QB Aaron Rodgers, who's still playing through that toe injury. We'll look for further updates on Rodgers, WR Davante Adams and RBs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.

Packers WR Davante Adams has been activated from the COVID list. He'll be back for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs -- albeit without QB Aaron Rodgers. In 8 games Rodgers missed all or most of back in 2017 (with Brett Hundley under center), Adams averaged 8.9 targets, 5.8 catches, 68 yards and .6 TDs. See where he sits in the Week 9 WR Rankings.

Packers WRs Davante Adams and Allen Lazard were not activated from the COVID list ahead of the 4 pm ET deadline and are out for tonight's game vs. the Cardinals. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) was not activated from IR and is also out. Green Bay did activate WR Malik Taylor from the COVID list and elevated WR Juwann Winfree from the practice squad. So the Packers' WRs tonight are Randall Cobb, Equaniemous St. Brown, Amari Rodgers, Taylor and Winfree.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Packers WR Davante Adams (COVID) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Cardinals on Thursday night. Adams hasn't officially been ruled out yet, but he didn't travel with the team to Arizona on Wednesday and should be on fantasy benches. WR Allen Lazard is definitely out for Thursday night's game because he's unvaccinated.

The Packers have placed WR Davante Adams on the COVID list. With their Week 8 game coming Thursday night in Arizona, that almost certainly means Adams will miss the game, regardless of his particular situation. That leaves Green Bay without the guy who has drawn 33% of Aaron Rodgers' pass attempts to date. It also leaves Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard as the top wideouts, with Equanimeous St. Brown likely factoring in as well. We'll see whether WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is ready to come off IR.

Top Washington CB William Jackson III (knee) will be inactive for today's game against the Packers. That only enhances an already strong matchup for Packers WR Davante Adams.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers reported for the start of training camp on Tuesday. It's still unclear if he and the team have officially agreed to whatever deal they're reportedly working on. But it sure looks like he's committed to play in Green Bay for at least 1 more season. We've bumped Rodgers, WR Davante Adams and RB Aaron Jones up the rankings.

Following up on NFL Network's Ian Rapoport's story this morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Packers and QB Aaron Rodgers are "close" to working on a deal that would bring Rodgers back to Green Bay for the 2021 season. Per Schefter, the agreement would void the 2023 year in Rodgers' contract and ensure that the team reviews Rodgers' situation after this year. It essentially sounds like this would be his final season with the Packers. We'll continue to track this situation, but Rodgers and Green Bay's skill-position players look much safer to draft now than they did 12 hours ago.

The Packers and WR Davante Adams have broken off contract-extension talks and are "in a bad place," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. There's no mention of a holdout here, but it's obviously not an ideal situation with training camp about to get going. We'll see where this goes. It's still unclear, of course, whether Adams and the Packers will have QB Aaron Rodgers this season.

The forecast for tonight's Titans-Packers game calls for temperatures in the low 30s with snow and winds of 10-15 mph with gusts of 25-30 mph. Those are less-than-ideal conditions for the passing games, but we're still expecting plenty of points in this one. The game still has a big 53.5-point over/under. We'd stick with all the regulars from these teams in fantasy lineups.

The forecast for today's Vikings-Packers game calls for 25 mph sustained winds with gusts close to 40 mph. The wind is expected to die down a bit throughout the game. Temperatures will be in the 30s with a wind chill in the 20s. Those are tough conditions for the passing and kicking games. We've lowered our passing projections a bit for both teams and would avoid both kickers in this game.
