Jake Ferguson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys TE Luke Schoonmaker (foot) recently suffered a setback, per HC Mike McCarthy. It’s “nothing major,” according to beat writer Jon Machota, but the team isn’t sure on a return time. Jake Ferguson should lead Cowboys TEs in snaps come Week 1.

Cowboys rookie TE Luke Schoonmaker worked off to the side but in full pads Tuesday, according to ESPN's Todd Archer, "normally a sign a player is close to getting on the field for practice." The second-round pick has been out with plantar fasciitis. We'll see if he's back in time for preseason games. He'll likely still face a tough battle with Jake Ferguson for playing time.

The Cowboys placed TE Luke Schoonmaker on the non-football injury list. He's still dealing with the plantar fasciitis that sidelined him for much of the spring. Schoonmaker landed in a wide-open Cowboys TE corps. But the missed practice time doesn't bode well for his chances of carving out an early-season role. TE Jake Ferguson is probably the better bet for production out of the gate.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz snagged both of Dallas' TD passes in Sunday's win over the Giants. He totaled 4 catches for 31 yards, with scores from 15 and 6 yards out. The Cowboys' backup TEs found significant involvement, too. Peyton Hendershot claimed a 2-yard rushing score in the 4th quarter, and Jake Ferguson caught all 3 of his targets for 57 yards -- including a 30-yarder in the 4th quarter that was Dallas' longest play of the day. Schultz will need to do better than his 13.3% target share from this game, but he still checked in 3rd on the team in that category and has been consistently good for fantasy football lineups when healthy.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott delivered 250 yards and 2 TDs on 21-of-27 passing in Sunday's win over the Bears. He added 34 yards and a TD on 5 rushing attempts. He found WR CeeDee Lamb for a team-high 77 yards on 5 catches and connected for a TD. The other TD pass went to rookie TE Jake Ferguson. TE Dalton Schultz tied for the team target lead (7) and caught 6 for 74 yards. WR Michael Gallup added 4-49 receiving on 6 targets. No other Cowboy drew more than 2 targets. Prescott looks like at least a top-12 fantasy QB going forward, with solid matchups at Green Bay and Minnesota following the Week 9 bye.

Cowboys rookie TE Jake Ferguson caught 4 of 6 targets for 40 yards and the team's lone passing TD in Sunday night's loss to the Eagles. He checked in 3rd in targets, with TE Peyton Hendershot drawing another 5 and TE Sean McKeon 1 as well. WR CeeDee Lamb led Dallas with 10 targets, catching 5 for 68 yards. WR Michael Gallup ranked 2nd, putting up a 2-18 receiving line on his 7 looks. QB Cooper Rush attempted a season-high 38 passes but completed only 18 (47.4%) for 181 yards and 1 TD. He also threw 3 INTs.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is INACTIVE for tonight's game vs. the Eagles. It's a big surprise after he was left off the final injury report. TEs Jake Ferguson, Peyton Hendershot and Sean McKeon are active for Dallas tonight. Ferguson and Hendershot figure to split the pass-catching work.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Giants. That leaves Dallas with TEs Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot. Ferguson has run 12 pass routes to Hendershot's 6 so far this season.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is questionable for Monday night’s game against the Giants. The late kickoff and nature of the injury mean you shouldn’t wait for Schultz in Week 3 fantasy football lineups. Rookie Jake Ferguson would likely be the primary TE if Schultz sits

ESPN's Todd Archer reports that Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz has a PCL "issue" in his right knee. "Unclear if Schultz could miss time at this point," Archer adds. Guess we'll see about the severity and Schultz's status for Week 3. Dallas "unofficially" lists rookie Jake Ferguson as Schultz's backup.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz suffered a right knee injury in Sunday's win over the Bengals. There's no concern about the ACL, according to The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken, but Schultz is scheduled for a Monday MRI. We should learn more over the next 24 hours. Fourth-round rookie Jake Ferguson is Dallas' #2 TE.

The Cowboys added Wisconsin TE Jake Ferguson in the 4th round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He opened his college career with a 36-456-4 line as a freshman but never progressed from there. Ferguson was primarily an in-line TE for the Badgers. He has reliable hands and is comfortable working in traffic at 6’5, 250 pounds. But he has 4.8 speed with a below-average vertical, leaving him as a low-upside fantasy prospect. Ferguson will compete for scraps behind TE Dalton Schultz in Dallas this year.
