Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring) has been placed on IR. He'll miss at least the next four games, making Week 7 his earliest possible return. With RB Alvin Kamara set to return from his suspension next week, Williams is droppable in standard-sized fantasy leagues. Rookie RB Kendre Miller has a good opportunity to carve out a role in Williams' absence.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. RB Kendre Miller (knee, hamstring) is not listed on the final injury report after practicing all week. The rookie will make his regular-season debut on Sunday, joining RB Tony Jones (and probably Taysom Hill) in the backfield. Miller is an interesting DFS tournament flier but would be a risky season-long play.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams is expected to miss “some time” with his hamstring injury, HC Dennis Allen said Tuesday. We'll see exactly how long Williams is out, but it sounds like he'll at least miss this Sunday's game vs. the Packers. That's the final game of RB Alvin Kamara's three-game suspension, while rookie RB Kendre Miller is still working back from knee and hamstring injuries. So the Saints could be down to Tony Jones as lead back this weekend. We could also see Taysom Hill play a big role on the ground. He wound up carrying nine times for 75 yards in the Week 2 win over the Panthers.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams left Monday night's game against the Panthers with a hamstring injury. He's questionable to return. With RB Kendre Miller inactive once again, New Orleans is left with Tony Jones Jr. as "lead" RB.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Panthers. That will again leave RB Jamaal Williams in a workhorse role. He handled 18 carries and two targets on a 75% snap rate in Week 1.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Panthers. He was limited in practice all week but had a heavy wrap on his left hamstring and a brace on his right knee on Saturday, according to NewOrleans.Football's Brooke Kirchhofer. "He really did look limited," Kirchhofer adds. "He wasn't able to move around as fluidly as we saw him before this hamstring injury." It doesn't sound like Miller is a good bet to play on Monday night. And, even if he does, he'd likely have a small role. Jamaal Williams looks safe to keep in fantasy lineups as a volume-based RB2.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) put in a limited practice on Thursday. It's an upgrade after he missed all three practices last week. Miller seemingly has a shot to make his regular-season debut vs. the Panthers on Monday night. He wouldn't be a fantasy option but would put a dent in RB Jamaal Williams' volume projection.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams racked up 18 carries in Sunday's win over the Titans, ceding just 1 RB carry to Tony Jones. Williams managed just 45 yards, though, against a Tennessee defense that ranked among the league's toughest vs. the run in 2022. Williams added just 7 more yards on 2 catches, among 2 targets. Taysom Hill worked in for 3 carries (and just 4 yards) as well, plus 0 catches on 1 target. Williams gets Carolina in Week 2, which was a more neutral matchup for RBs in 2022. A Week 3 spot at Green Bay looks more favorable as well. Williams' Week 1 touch count will keep him in fantasy-starter consideration the next two weeks, in spite of his lackluster production vs. the Titans.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Titans. The rookie didn’t practice all week, so his availability for Week 2 is also in doubt. Miller’s absence leaves Jamaal Williams, Kirk Merritt, and Tony Jones in New Orleans’ backfield. Williams should dominate work and is a solid RB2 play in fantasy lineups.
The Saints list RB Kendre Miller (knee) as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. The rookie didn’t practice all week, so it’d be a major surprise if he played. Miller’s absence would leave Jamaal Williams as something close to an every-down back for New Orleans.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. The rookie is unlikely to play vs. the Titans this weekend. With RB Alvin Kamara serving the first of his three-game suspension, RB Jamaal Williams is set up for an every-down role on Sunday.
Saints RB Kendre Miller is sidelined with a hamstring injury, HC Dennis Allen said Thursday. Allen wouldn't say whether Miller will be available for Week 1. New Orleans could certainly use him with RB Alvin Kamara serving the first game of his three-game suspension. Jamaal Williams will operate as the lead back in the opener vs. the Titans.
Saints RB Kendre Miller sprained his right knee in Sunday's preseason game against the Chiefs, according to multiple reports. That's the same knee Miller sprained in his final college game. The rookie will have further testing this week to determine the severity. New Orleans had already been looking at adding RBs, so don't be surprised if we see a move this week.
The Saints are expected to sign RB Kareem Hunt, pending a physical, ESPN's Dianna Russini reports. That will further crowd a New Orleans backfield that also includes Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, and rookie Kendre Miller. Kamara, of course, is suspended for the first three games, giving the other guys a shot at useable fantasy value at the start of the season. But we'll see what happens when Kamara returns. It seems unlikely that all four RBs would even be active on game days. Hunt is coming off a disappointing 2022 season that saw him finish with career lows in yards per carry (3.8), yards per catch (6.0), and Pro Football Focus rushing grade.
The NFL is suspending Saints RB Alvin Kamara for the first three games of the regular season over the assault case that stemmed from a February 2022 incident in Las Vegas. This is half the length of the six-game suspension that many have assumed heading into this season. We'll see whether Kamara appeals but wouldn't expect it, with the announcement coming two days after what was reported as a "good" meeting between the RB and commissioner Roger Goodell. Expect Jamaal Williams and rookie Kendre Miller to split work in Kamara's absence, with the veteran likely reclaiming the lead role upon his return. This news moves Kamara up our fantasy football rankings. His per-game upside has made him a solid-to-good value all along at a depressed ADP.
The Saints have placed rookie RB Kendre Miller on the non-football injury list to begin training camp. That doesn't knock Miller out for any specific length of time, and we'd be surprised if he misses much. The third-round pick suffered a knee injury in his final college game in January, but he has worked out with New Orleans since the draft. We'll watch Miller's status in camp. Any significant absence would hinder his chance siphoning touches from RBs Jamaal Williams and Alvin Kamara.
Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football reports that Saints RB Alvin Kamara has agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge stemming from his 2022 Las Vegas incident. Underhill adds that "the felony charge is going away." That doesn't necessarily tell us what to expect in terms of league suspension. But the lightening of charges can't be bad news for Kamara's NFL penalty. And the plea deal should help speed up the league's decision. Kamara has been going in low-RB3 range of best ball drafts, which has made him a value -- albeit with the risk of uncertainty. We'll keep updating his projection in our rankings as more becomes clear.
